In this program, students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and professionalism necessary to conduct applied research in sectors such as marketing, tourism, media, government, public affairs, education, health, non-profit and social service agencies. Students are provided with hands-on experience and focus on the entire research process. Students formulate research questions, develop research designs, collect information from primary and secondary sources, perform data analysis, interpret results, communicate findings, and develop strategic recommendations. This program is designed to assist Internationally Educated Nurses (IENs) in developing themselves further as a nurse practicing in acute complex care and prepare them with the clinical skills to work in an acute complex care setting in Ontario. Emphasis is placed on the application and evaluation of advanced theories and practice in acute primary care, and guidance of others as part of the health care team. Students gain advanced theoretical and experiential knowledge in pharmacology, health assessment and emergency nursing through classroom instruction, simulation labs and practicum placements.

This program is designed to prepare students for a career in mobile application development either as part of a team or an independent entrepreneur. By leveraging the prior software development experience of students, the program is able to focus on the core techniques, concepts, and architectures of mobile applications.

Using an applied project methodology, students will learn how to resolve common mobile programming challenges, while gaining tangible experience in developing mobile applications. Students will also develop effective technical communication skills, as well as gain exposure to vendor standards, guidelines, and best practices.

This Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (OACETT) accredited program, offers students advanced courses in electrical power systems, robotics, programmable logic controllers, networking, instrumentation and project management. Students gain hands-on experience in associated lab classes using state of the art hardware and test equipment.  These courses, together with experience gained in three coop work terms with industry partners, provide students with a broad technical background and a wide range of employment opportunities in the electrical industry.

In this program students acquire an understanding of the general principles of law, and gain theoretical knowledge and practical experience in ethics and a small business practice. Taking the program prepares students to apply to become a licensed paralegal in accordance with the requirements of the Law Society Act. A licensed paralegal may be self–employed, offering fee for service legal assistance, without the supervision of a lawyer, or may be a salaried employee in various legal environments.

This program is designed to prepare university and college graduates from a wide range of educational and cultural backgrounds to work as managers in international and domestic businesses of various size. Students develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to manage the human, physical, and financial resources associated with international trade. The first year covers fundamental business knowledge and skills, while more complex international situations and strategic areas are the focus of the second year. The course of study promotes teamwork and leadership skills, and enhances students’ capacity to work effectively in cross-cultural environments.

Students gain knowledge and hands-on experience to work in an adjunctive capacity as supportive personnel to qualified Speech-Language Pathologists and/or Audiologists in a variety of treatment settings. Students focus on conducting programming after the Speech-Language Pathologist or the Audiologist has completed the assessment and determined the therapy plan, as well as practicing the variety of other types of duties within this profession.

Based on a thorough understanding of physiological and functional speech/language and hearing disorders, students develop programming skills and learn intervention techniques to evoke and sustain communication behaviours. In addition, students identify the behaviour and environmental factors that can potentially support or erode the efficacy of therapy.
