Fashion is an international business, and Humber’s Fashion Arts and Business diploma program places an emphasis on retail operations from both domestic and international perspectives. You will study marketing, store planning and merchandising, brand management, marketing, social media, event planning, and retail buying. You’ll also learn fashion trend forecasting, sales techniques, and colour and styling analysis while attaining basic knowledge of fashion products and fashion promotion. These skills are then applied to product launches, planning merchandise assortments, styling fashion shoots and the production of fashion events.

The graduates from the Wireless Telecommunications graduate certificate program are 5G ready. The 5G communications platform will support future innovations in the area of the Internet of Things, augumented reality, industrial automation and automated vehicles including drones. Our graduates build and maintain the infrastructure of communication systems. They learn what it takes to be successful in the communications industry. The wireless program focuses on three main outcomes: RF and Optical test and measurement, IP addressing and networking, and troubleshooting of a number of wireless protocols and systems. 

Our graduates understand the engineering tools and equipment for the testing of systems including drive test tools, RF and Optical test equipment, protocol analyzers, and virtualization and virtualized tools. Humber’s Massage Therapy advanced diploma program provides you with the in-depth academic preparation and hands-on professional experience required to become a valued member of a health-care team. Working in our state-of-the-art facilities, which include specialized massage therapy tables and exercise equipment, you’ll develop the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct a patient assessment, develop treatment plans, deliver safe and effective treatment, and evaluate outcomes. You’ll also learn how to run a successful business, preparing you to become an entrepreneur or to own a private practice.

As regulated health-care professionals, massage therapists are overseen by the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario in accordance with the Regulated Health Professions Act and the Massage Therapy Act. Our mission is to develop knowledgeable, compassionate, and respectful massage therapy students, who will become outstanding leaders, effective practitioners, and important contributors to their communities.

Our curriculum is designed to emphasize depth and breadth in your clinical experience. Your hands-on broadcasting education will be enriched by access to Humber’s high-definition television mobile truck—the most advanced of its kind among Ontario colleges. Humber has a strong reputation in the television broadcasting industry.BRTV students regularly produce and live stream Humber Hawks varsity games and esport tournaments. From the business side of hospitality, to à la carte cuisine, Humber’s Culinary Skills certificate program prepares you for a career as a professional chef. Gain theoretical and practical skills while learning in cutting-edge labs and real-world settings with the latest kitchen technology and equipment.

Many graduates of this one-year program continue on for another year and complete the Culinary Management diploma program or enter our Cook Apprenticeship program.

Students also have the opportunity to experience preparing meals on the Humber Food Truck, Humber’s classroom on wheels. A fast-track program is implemented for the January start. The first semester (January to April) is immediately followed by the second semester (May to August).

The curriculum for this program is similar to the first year of the Culinary Management program. This allows students to transition into the Culinary Management program after the first semester or at the end of the second semester with bridging courses. Alternatively, students are able to move into the Cook Apprenticeship program providing they have an eligible employer.

In Humber’s Electromechanical Engineering Technology advanced diploma program, you’ll learn how to support the engineering activities of manufacturers that rely increasingly on automation technology to maintain a competitive edge in the global economy. You will develop skills in industrial automation, robotics, control systems, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, safety, mechatronics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation welding, machine elements and computer-control methods. You will also learn to decipher mechanical and electrical schematic drawings, and use electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools.

Our program builds upon the solid technical foundation of the Technician program. The Technology graduate is prepared to enter a wider range of careers. The skills first learned in the Technician program are enhanced through project-based learning and increased hands-on practice in the labs.

Complementing your technical education are the effective communications, problem-solving and interpersonal skills that add value to any team. Coursework reflects real-world demands through independent and co-operative study in practical environments including experience with industrial standard equipment. The industry relevant curriculum is taught by faculty at the top of their fields to provide you with the skills and knowledge employers are looking for.

Optional Co-op
This program offers a co-op option. Co-op work terms enable you to apply your skills and knowledge in a work environment and gain valuable, practical experience related to your program of study. You will learn new skills, learn about the world of work and meet people in your profession.

For students who are accepted into the program, three co-op work terms will take place. The first four-month work term is between Semesters 2 and 3, and then two consecutive four-month work terms between Semesters 4 and 5. There are limited spaces in the co-op option. Therefore, you will apply for the co-op option during Semester 1 and be informed of the process by which to apply. While co-op work opportunities are not guaranteed, as students are in a competitive job placement market, participating students will receive a wide range of services to help them find a co-op opportunity.
