Indigenous Learning
Indigenous Learning is an interdisciplinary, cross-cultural department open to both Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal students. Borrowing from subjects including history, geography, anthropology and sociology, this program will examine societal structures and the ways the Indigenous population relates to mainstream populations in Canada.

Throughout our programs we aim to enhance your awareness of Aboriginal life experiences, culture and political issues. We focus on the current reality of Aboriginal Peoples as opposed to the traditional, anthropological approach. While history is a component of your Indigenous Learning studies, it will be within the context of lived implications in order to challenge assumptions and mistaken understandings about Aboriginal Peoples.

Biology is the study of plants, animals and the diversity of life in an evolutionary context. The course-based Master of Science in Kinesiology is a program for those that are interested in undertaking a more applied, evidence-based pathway that will add value to their credentials both academically and experientially.  The program provides professional training, clinical skills upgrading, and research opportunities for current and future practitioners of Kinesiology.

The combination of online and on-campus courses gives students the option to live in Thunder Bay or to live in an alternate location and attend the Thunder Bay campus to complete the practical courses.  This distance-friendly MSc degree offers students the opportunity to study from home and still engage with professors and peers.  The format of course delivery may also allow students to maintain employment while completing their studies.

As a chemical engineer, you will be skilled in the development, design, construction, and operation of industrial plants in which natural resources are transferred into useful products.

Additionally, you’ll be involved in the manufacture of such commodities as synthetic fibres, plastics, fertilizers, detergents, salts, foods, pharmaceuticals, resins, petroleum products, and pulp and paper.
