Students in this program receive a well-rounded and thorough education in important aspects of business such as human resources, law and marketing in addition to the comprehensive accounting courses taught by Lambton's accounting faculty who bring a wealth of industry experience and all hold the Chartered Professional Accountants designation. There is a focus on developing strong communication, planning, teamwork, and analytical skills while studying accounting theory and practice, financial statement analysis, cost management and control, taxation, and computerized accounting systems.

Experiential Learning Opportunities 
Because practical work experiences are vital, students are given the option to participate in a co-op work experience in term 5. This provides exposure to a business environment and valuable work experience in the accounting field. In the final year of the program students utilize all their knowledge, skills, and abilities gained over the duration of their program in the Entrepreneurship capstone courses. Through a series of culminating reports and presentations, students showcase their knowledge, skills and abilities to corporate partners who provide feedback and enhance this experiential learning opportunity.

The Computer Software & Database Development Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program offers students the opportunity to study the most current trends in website development, computer programming, database design and development, mobile development, and web technologies. This intensive two-year course includes an introduction to computing and web trends, and rapidly familiarizes students with current development tools to culminate in a work-term for eligible students. Major coursework provides a hands-on environment allowing students to evaluate, design, and implement software applications for the three-tier client, server, and database environment. In the final academic term, students also explore Emerging Technologies that are becoming relevant in their field.

Students study Microsoft C# and Oracle Java programming languages as well as the Oracle and IBM DB2 databases. Graduates have the ability to use problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyze business and industry requirements and design, develop and implement real life database-driven enterprise web applications. 

For those studying in Sarnia, students are offered extra-curricular experiences through The Cube, Lambton’s entrepreneurship hub, and through Applied Research & Innovation—giving students unique opportunities to build new technologies and follow their own dreams. Applied Research opportunities are limited for students studying at Lambton in Toronto.

CSAC has a co-op component where students with a GPA of 2.8 or greater may have an opportunity to enhance their classroom learning in a real world industry environment. Graduates are prepared for entry-level careers in the information technology field across Canada.

This advanced diploma program prepares students to work in a variety of agencies and organizations concerned with the complex challenges of children, youth and their families. Child and Youth Care Practitioners utilize a relational approach, while working with children, youth and their families, building on strengths to facilitate positive change, promoting resiliency, independence and self-advocacy. The ability to manage stress, present in a professional and dependable manner, and work closely with others is key to succeeding in this field. This program is ideally suited for emotionally mature individuals with a strong desire to help children and adolescents in a time of crisis. Lambton College will prepare students for a rewarding and challenging career as Child and Youth Care Practitioner. 

Lambton College gives students a superior experience by providing three unique placement opportunities that can lead to future employment. Students enjoy small class sizes and personal attention, especially through experiential learning opportunities where academic subjects are put into practice in concurrent supervised field placements. Field placements require a police record check including a vulnerable sectors check.

Graduates leave the program with approximately 1,500 hours of field placement, a unique capstone experience and are eligible for full membership and certification with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Care (OACYC), the Council of Canadian Child and Youth Care Associations (CCCYCA), as well as international certification with the Child and Youth Care Certification Board (CYCCB). Graduates also possess the knowledge and skills required to serve children, youth and families in school, residential, youth justice, hospitals, community, and mental health environments.

In the first year of the Advanced Project Management & Strategic Leadership program, students will gain skills in project management and business leadership. The program includes all 10 project management knowledge areas based on the PMI® A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Sixth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2017.

During the second year of the program, studies go beyond the mechanics of the project and explore the dynamics of managing relationships. The scope of the third term includes stakeholder, client and executive relationship management, organizational culture and cultural pluralism and leading the project team in the project environment. Lastly, in the full-time work term or applied project students gain experience in a project-based work environment.

This program requires students to purchase a mandatory eBook and courseware fees. This fee will be applied to your student account in the first and second term. This program requires students to bring their own technological devices.

The Lambton College Advanced Project Management – Environmental, Ontario College Graduate Certificate prepares graduates for careers in project coordination and management in a variety of industries including environmental science, environmental engineering, urban planning and human geography, sustainability, and building science.

The program aligns itself with the PMI® A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Sixth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2017 and heavily utilizes foundational standards and practice frameworks prescribed by the Project Management Institute (PMI). This guide is currently being revised to PMI® A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Seventh Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2021. Faculty are monitoring changes and will incorporate the principles of the new guide as it becomes available.

Students are introduced to the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closing to a wide range of projects that focus on the environment and sustainability. In addition, students expand their business leadership skills through collaborative team projects, and further develop negotiation and communication skills. The use of project management software tools within an environmental context will enable students to meet the challenging demands of these complex fields.

The Quality Engineering Management Ontario Graduate Certificate program provides individuals with the knowledge and techniques to improve the delivery and quality of goods and services. The focus of the program is the achievement of performance excellence in manufacturing and business processes through the use of modern quality improvement methods.

On completion of the program, the graduate will be able to contribute to the role of creating value in an organization and will be able to apply modern quality techniques and procedures to solve problems and enhance the quality of goods and services, to eliminate waste and improve value to the end customer.

The principles examined in this program are applied to a wide variety of industries. It includes skills training that recognizes the needs of the traditional manufacturing base, and also provides the proficiencies demanded by many technology-focused industries.

The two-year Business program is the best way for students to begin their business education. Students looking to work in a multi-national corporation, take over a family-run business or become an entrepreneur, will find that this program offers all the important foundational courses.

In the first year, students will be introduced to marketing, human resources, accounting, computer applications, global business principles and ethics. Important studies in business communications and mathematics round out the year. Second year will move into advanced business courses that all business organizations consider essential. Digital tools, organizational behaviour, business intelligence, business law, operations management and economics are just some of these courses.

Students considering entrepreneurship will have the option of undertaking an entrepreneurship project course to research and plan a new business or work on a special project for existing businesses.
To develop you skills, you will also have access to The Cube - Lambton College's entrepreneurship hub - and the ability to participate in Enactus - our award-winning social entrepreneurship team.

In manufacturing today, there is a continuous need for employees with highly developed skills in testing, processing, and quality assurance of materials. In addition, employers are looking for management skills to plan, implement and coordinate in manufacturing facilities. Encompassing many areas of science, including material science, chemical and material engineering and chemistry, and combining business management curriculum, the Lambton College Applied Manufacturing Management - Advanced Materials Processing, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides students with real-world experiences to learn and apply the knowledge and skills required to study the properties and behaviours of engineering polymeric materials used in a range of manufacturing applications in Ontario, Canada, and abroad.

In the program, students develop skills in applied material science and manufacturing. Additional courses include hands-on introductions to chemical analysis, material characterization, composites, nanocomposites and polymers. In addition, students learn the underlying theoretical principles in materials processing and additive manufacturing. Graduates are technically skilled problem-solvers with well-developed business, ethics, communication and analytical skills that can be applied to future careers in advanced manufacturing technology for a variety of industrial, government or consulting organizations.

Enhance your employability skills for a successful career in global business. The Business Management – International Business Ontario Graduate Certificate program is designed to prepare university and college graduates for a rewarding career in international business management. In addition to building management skills, students will develop the competencies to investigate, analyze and manage domestic and international business activities, in order to successfully conduct business on a global scale.

Curriculum emphasizes international sales and marketing, trade, research, supply chain management, law and project management in a Canadian business setting. Activities, projects and case studies are used to simulate a work environment and prepare students with the practical experience to be successful in their careers upon graduation.

The work term that concludes the program provides students with the opportunity to gain valuable work experience that will assist them in finding permanent employment after graduation.

Upon graduation, students will have met the academic requirements for application to the Certified International Trade Professional (CITP) designation and be prepared to write the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association (CIFFA) exams.

This program is a true pathway program. Liberal Studies is designed for those who wish to pursue a university education or degree completion. Following completion of the program, and provided that all requirements are met, students will have the opportunity to apply for entry into a university degree.

This program is rooted in a variety of humanities and social science disciplines. An emphasis on developing university-level skills in critical thinking, communication, research, literacy and numeracy prepares students for professional environments which impact society, business and technology.

Graduates of the Liberal Studies program may receive transfer credits toward degrees at Ontario universities. Graduates of this program may apply to Huron, Brescia, King's or Western University for acceptance into the second year of a specified Bachelor's program.
