The Lambton College Software Engineering Technician - Artificial Intelligence, Ontario College Diploma program will provide students the opportunity to learn in-demand skills in the growing field of software development and artificial intelligence.

In the program, students apply skills in the newest technology software. Curriculum details modern software design and Artificial Intelligence (AI) frameworks, machine learning, data visualization, big data fundamentals, natural language processing, image recognition, recommender systems, software bots, digital ethics, and privacy within AI solutions. Students also learn how to design and implement a secure and robust computing environment through the entire Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Engineering for AI and ML platforms and visualization for various data forms and AI and ML tools are also studied in the program curriculum. Additionally, students learn various aspects of data storage, manipulation, and analysis and learn how to communicate the outcomes with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

In the first year of the Advanced Project Management & Strategic Leadership program, students will gain skills in project management and business leadership. The program includes all 10 project management knowledge areas based on the PMI® A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK® Guide) - Sixth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2017.

During the second year of the program, studies go beyond the mechanics of the project and explore the dynamics of managing relationships. The scope of the third term includes stakeholder, client and executive relationship management, organizational culture and cultural pluralism and leading the project team in the project environment. Lastly, in the full-time work term or applied project students gain experience in a project-based work environment.

This program requires students to purchase a mandatory eBook and courseware fees. This fee will be applied to your student account in the first and second term. This program requires students to bring their own technological devices. 

The two-year Business program is the best way for students to begin their business education. Students looking to work in a multi-national corporation, take over a family-run business or become an entrepreneur, will find that this program offers all the important foundational courses.

In the first year, students will be introduced to marketing, human resources, accounting, computer applications, global business principles and ethics. Important studies in business communications and mathematics round out the year. Second year will move into advanced business courses that all business organizations consider essential. Digital tools, organizational behaviour, business intelligence, business law, operations management and economics are just some of these courses.

Students considering entrepreneurship will have the option of undertaking an entrepreneurship project course to research and plan a new business or work on a special project for existing businesses.

To develop you skills, you will also have access to The Cube - Lambton College's entrepreneurship hub - and the ability to participate in Enactus - our award-winning social entrepreneurship team.

The Supply Chain Management Ontario College Graduate Certificate program will enhance the credentials of successful students, enabling them to demonstrate understanding, knowledge, skills and expertise in supply chain to potential employers. It will further provide students with the ability to envision and produce their own supply chain career plan in preparation for employment. This program is accredited by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council through its National Accreditation Program.

Emphasis is placed upon learning the elements of supply chain strategic planning, network design, materials handling design and applications and operations. The program will enable students to analyze end-to-end supply chain processes and understand the importance of technology and software applications  in facilitating and supporting supply chain execution. Students will experience a mix of classroom study, online research, hands-on computer applications, individual assignments, group projects, topical quizzes, projects and field study.

The Full Stack Software Development program is an Ontario College Graduate Certificate that offers students the opportunity to study the most current trends in software development. This intensive, two-year program concludes with a work term for eligible students.

Software development includes three tiers - user interface, business logic, and database. Full Stack Software Developers have experience in front-end web development that includes the user interface (UI) for browsers and mobile devices and back-end development that includes developing software containing the business logic that accesses databases. Simply, full stack developers have an understanding of the presentation tier, business logic tier, and data tier of software development.

Front-end languages and technologies include HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, React and others to develop user interfaces. The business logic and database layers. The business logic uses server-side programming languages and frameworks such as Java, C# .NET, Python, Node.js and others. The database layer includes SQL and NoSQL, and MongoDB. Additionally, DevOps tools such as Git, GitHub, Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), and Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines are essential to build and release high quality software in a time efficient manner.

Students demonstrate their knowledge and skills by developing solutions to real world three-tier (client, server, and database) problems. Major term projects are assigned that span entire terms allowing students to actively engage in the evaluation, design, and implementation of real-world software applications. As a result, students develop deep content knowledge as well as critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills.

The widespread use of computer technology in all industries, from manufacturing, transportation, construction, education, health and financial institutions means that full stack developers are the key people shaping the solutions of today and tomorrow. Graduates use their problem solving and critical thinking skills to analyze business and industry requirements and design, develop and implement real-life, database driven, enterprise web applications.

The first two terms of the two-year Construction Project Management, Ontario College Graduate Certificate includes specific, practical education through a combination of management skills in construction with an emphasis on estimating, scheduling, procurement and cost control, combined with best practices in construction safety, quality management, legal documentation, and contracts. The third term curriculum concentrates on common skills necessary in project management. The food industry finds itself responding to consumer demands for more refined, sophisticated, and convenient products with an increased responsibility for processors in terms of food safety and quality assurance standards. To help support the ever increasing demand to attract highly-skilled workers to the growing food and beverage processing industry in Ontario, the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Management, Ontario College Graduate Certificate program provides extensive, hands-on training for careers in food and beverage processing, safety and quality assurance. This four term, full-time program is designed for students with previous degrees or diplomas in related sciences, engineering or food safety, and will add to previous education and skills that directly apply to the food processing environment.

Curriculum focuses on principles of food safety and quality assurance standards applicable to the Canadian food and beverage processing industries. Major coursework is assigned as term projects that span entire terms allowing students to actively engage in the evaluation, design and implementation of real world software applications.
