Upon completing your program, you may work in places as diverse as architectural firms, festivals, video game design studios, film studios, radio, magazines, or content creation agencies.

The creative industries include seven sectors:

They are the result of the interaction between the arts and new technologies and involve the production of content and its enhancement.

The virtual world is now unavoidable, and demand for community managers grows every day. Social media is truly important for clients, whether used to generate customer loyalty or improve the customer experience. This means that responsiveness is important in terms of implementing changes, and developing, operating and expanding businesses.

Community managers are responsible for the organization’s brand—they take charge of its reputation and inform the company of the competition’s practices and industry trends. They analyze the situation to gauge the efficacy and functioning of the strategies in place, with the aim of improving future actions.

The Social media strategy AEC teaches students how to develop, write and optimize promotional texts online, communicate with different web communities, and prevent and manage crises.

In Canada, and in most parts of the world, the number of graphic designers and illustrators is expected to increase sharply over the next few years.

The Graphic Design training at LaSalle College offers students professional level facilities, qualified teachers whom currently work in the industry and a hands-on education helping the students master the necessary skills needed to succeed as a graphic designer.

Graduates from our Graphic Design course often find jobs with internationally acclaimed companies such as Moment Factory, Sid Lee, ALDO, just to name a few.

Choose an engaging career in Canada or abroad with select employers thanks to this program that is unique in Québec! The common study course enables students on DEC programs at the International School of Hotel Management & Tourism to acquire knowledge in hospitality, tourism and the restaurant business.

From Fall 2020, Hotel Management Technique students will have the option to divide their time between the College and an employer establishment to receive practical, concrete and paid field training. LaSalle College’s Work-Integrated Learning – Remunerated option is unique in Montréal.

This DEC also offers practical experience through service and supervision classes in our restaurant-school La Classe, at several major events and conferences, and on courses and professional visits. This enables our students to be versatile and form ties with people in the industry.

At the International School of Fashion, Arts and Design, our students have the opportunity to regularly participate in high calibre projects where they let their talents and their ability to innovate shine. Using leading-edge computer software, students learn different interior design techniques and know-how in order to conceptualize and produce aesthetic, functional and safe designs for interior spaces in residential, commercial, cultural, institutional and industrial buildings, according to standard practices and in accordance with all applicable codes.

After they graduate, they can work, among others, for architectural and interior design firms, or hotel and restaurant chains. Many of our students work for prestigious business companies such as Andres Escobar & Associates, Igloo Design as well as the Cirque du Soleil and the Grands Ballets Canadiens.

A well-planned interior design has a concrete impact on a room’s functionality, as well as the wellness and safety of the people who use that room. That’s why interior design isn’t limited to decor. It’s a career that requires both technical and creative knowledge.

In addition to becoming an expert in technical and architectural drawings, 3D models and working drawings, students will develop their own style and expand their creativity. They will then be able to:

• Select materials, finishes and colors that are best suited to a project’s requirements
• Design unique, custom, ergonomic furniture
• Create the desired ambiance using lighting tailored to the room they are designing

Trends are always evolving in the interior design industry. That’s why the three-year DEC in Interior Design is taught by well-known professionals who still work in the field. At the end of their training, students will know how to:

• Create visually appealing, functional and safe interior design concepts for residential, commercial, cultural and industrial projects
• Use popular industry software like SketchUp, AutoCAD, Autodesk 3ds Max, Autodesk Revit, etc.
• Complete interior design projects that comply with current regulations and industry standards

During their training, students will be able to present their final project to industry professionals, complete an internship and build their portfolio. They will arrive on the job market with concrete experience to show their employer or clients.

Companies have long been the heart of Quebec’s economy. Behind commercial and social entrepreneurship (including the sharing economy, circular economy, etc.), there are entrepreneurs and buyers operating in an increasingly complex globalized world. This program, whose pedagogy is based in coaching, helps students understand and practice the skills they will need to be successful in business:

• Designing their approach
• Getting to know the company’s ecosystem and the cultural codes of entrepreneurship in Quebec
• Understanding international business

The College offers a program for future entrepreneurs that will help them develop expertise in various fields. In fact, in the last semester, students will benefit from a pre-incubator-type program. Throughout their studies, students will have access to mentoring and support to help them realize their ideas and prepare to start up or take over a company when they graduate.

The program provides students with the skills they will need for the following activities related to the profession:

• Creating a viable business plan and model
• Finding funding
• Communicating in the language of the target audience
• Identifying constraints and opportunities
• Selecting consultants and partners
• Demonstrating sales and negotiation skills
• Using their emotional intelligence, instinct, and resilience
• Using efficient and effective technological tools to support the company project and business model

With a core curriculum of studies, the Tourism Techniques program with a specialization in Development and Promotion of Travel Products (travel, hospitality, attractions, destinations, hotels, restaurants, etc) opens the doors to a wider array of careers in Québec, Canada or abroad.

This program focuses on the essential knowledge of tourism management. Teachers experienced in the industry provide their know-how and the key to success in entering the labor market. The program opens the doors to a variety of positions in development and promotion.

Students in this program may participate in the Job Fair organized by the International School of Hotel Management and Tourism, and eventually find a job in the industry.

Faced with the growth of service and trade companies, a specialized workforce trained in commercial management is required on the labor market. The Business Management DEC, lasting three years, meets this need.

This program aims to train generalists (technicians) who will master all aspects of commercial management and sales force management within a retail establishment or in a company. It aims to develop three types of profiles: management of a retail business, commercial or industrial representation, and independent management of a commercial establishment.

Upon completion of this program, graduates will be able to put to use the skills acquired in different types of business establishments or within a company.

In the Specialization in Business Intelligence program, students will learn about a company’s different departments and how they interact. They will learn about the design and modelling of an information system within the context of business intelligence.

This program will help students perfect their understanding of elements that interact with databases, such as the language SQL. They will also come to understand the challenges involved in data collection and learn how to practise data integration, analysis and visualization using business intelligence tools such as Microsoft’s BI suite.

This program will enable students to develop skills that will be applied to meet complex organizational needs and sustain an innovative culture.
