The Game Art & Design diploma program is designed to prepare graduates for careers as game designers and level designers in the video game industry. This goal is achieved by building foundational skill sets in game design, level design, game scripting, written communication, as well as 2D and 3D art. Students will have the opportunity to learn to write professional design documentation, design games, game systems, game mechanics and level environments, as well as apply knowledge to create their own interactive experiences. In this innovative program, students gain cutting-edge credentials with a curriculum that balances theory with hands-on experience in the recording studio.

Through rigorous study of theoretical concepts, industry practices, and hands-on production techniques, students work to develop the technical skills and aesthetic sensibilities needed to become professional engineers, technicians and producers. Students learn the fundamentals of acoustics, audio engineering principles, digital audio editing, analog and digital audio mixing, music theory, among other skills. LaSalle College Vancouver’s Audio Production program shows students how to record, edit, mix and master digital audio using industry-standard professional recording studio technology, including sophisticated Solid State Logic recording consoles. Students explore everything from producing live and studio music to designing sound for film, radio, TV, web, live performances and other venues.

The practical training covers the basics of fine dessert and pastry making. Pastry curriculum introduces classic creams, custards, and other fillings, as well as methods for making mousses, tarts, and cakes. Students are also acquainted with creative decorating and plating techniques. 

Baking curriculum explores methods for the preparation of yeast and sweet dough products and students have the opportunity to learn the importance of weights and measures, temperatures, hand-skills, and creative finishing techniques. Students can also learn to create hearth and artisan breads and to produce and deliver assorted bread products to the schools various outlets on a daily basis – much like a true working bake shop.

The 3D Modeling for Animation & Games diploma program at LaSalle College Vancouver is designed to provide graduates with the relevant skills necessary to pursue entry-level employment in the game, animation and visual effects entertainment industries.
