The field of electromechanical engineering and mechatronics reflects the integration of four areas in engineering: mechanical, electrical, electronics, and automation. Graduates of the Electromechanical Engineering Technician - Mechatronics program will have the skills and knowledge to enter the workforce in a wide variety of industrial environments and advanced manufacturing facilities, and may be involved with the design, implementation, maintenance and repair of robotic equipment and automation systems.

• Interpret and produce electrical, electronic, and mechanical drawings and other related technical documents and graphics for a variety of stakeholders in compliance with industry standards
• Fabricate and build electrical, electronic, and mechanical components and assemblies in accordance with operating standards, job requirements, and specifications
• Select and use a variety of troubleshooting techniques and equipment to assess, maintain, and repair electromechanical circuits, equipment, processes, systems, and subsystems

• Work in the kitchen and dining room of Resto 213, Loyalist’s on-campus student-run gourmet restaurant.
• Students participate in The Art of Flavour dinners throughout the year, which provides exposure to different styles of cuisine and winemaking, as well as potential job connections. 
• Earn first-hand experience in all aspects of culinary management — from hosting and service, food preparation, pricing and menu design, to developing marketing strategies.
• Students also prepare food for the Loyalist Market, a retail outlet offering an amazing variety of fresh and frozen products designed and created by Culinary students.
• Optional field trips provide invaluable experience in food and culture. Recent destinations include New York City, Paris, Switzerland and Portugal.

By integrating science and engineering concepts with industry-specific technologies, civil engineering technicians and technologists assist in the monitoring and inspection of civil infrastructure projects. An education in civil engineering can offer many opportunities – leading to rewarding careers both in the office and out in the field, in areas such as structural design, municipal engineering, transportation construction and geotechnical engineering.

This well-rounded program combines classroom instruction, hands-on learning, both outside (in the field) and inside, in our Building Sciences Lab using industry standard equipment.

Get a strong foundation in surveying techniques, drafting principles and computer applications, using programs such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Gain skills in structural, municipal and highway design, drafting, materials testing, surveying, inspection, construction supervision and project estimating, to name a few.
Year one is common with the Construction Engineering Technician program, allowing for ease of transfer.

In this hands-on program, you’ll earn a full spectrum of skills ranging from television production and digital filmmaking to web streaming and interactive content creation. With access to digital cameras, audio, lighting, and grip equipment we enable Loyalist College students to tell stories with impressive production values and create meaningful work for their portfolios.

You will learn how to meet the needs of the television and digital media broadcast industry by applying industry-standard production equipment, using strategies that enhance work performance an:d

• Operate industry standard production equipment, in-studio and on location, to create television, video, and/or web content for multiple platforms
• Keep current with the needs of the television and digital media broadcast industry using strategies that enhance work performance and guide professional development
• Plan and prepare interviews, scripts, and reporting content for use in television, video, or digital media productions
• Participate in marketing activities to promote independent productions and/or a station’s brand and products
• Evaluate the artistic and technical success of filmmaking and multimedia projects to build a toolkit of strategies to meet client and audience needs

Biotechnology plays a critical role in the battles against hunger, disease, and pollution. It is used in developing precision medicines and gene therapies, environmental decontamination to restore polluted spaces, and engineering crops to improve their yield and nutrition.

Study in the newly equipped Bay of Quinte Skills Centre:

• Hands-on learning combines classroom theory and practical, lab-based instruction.
• Work in state-of-the-art Instrumentation and Molecular Biology labs equipped with PCR and DNA sequencing technology.
• Get experience with a wide variety of instrumentation used in genetics, microbiology, fermentation and forensics.
• Get on-the-job, practical experience with field placements in the second and third year.
