Students who wish to work in Canada require a work permit to do so. A student in Canada can work part-time during the course of his studies and full-time during holidays and semester breaks and post the completion of their course/program.

Certificate in Sales and Event Coordinator
Sales and Event Coordinator (SEC) is a new and innovative program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education College (MTEC). The successful and long standing cross institutional partnership with the college and sector council benefits students in all areas of training and employment. Although students will receive the MITT credential upon successful completion, the 10 months of occupational specific, career development and technical courses are delivered by MTEC. MTEC's facility is located close to MITT, on Scurfield Blvd. At the end of the program, MTEC will connect eligible students with one of their numerous industry contacts to practice their skills in a 120 hour work practicum.
Upon successful completion, students will receive a MITT certificate and will have the confidence needed to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment while building relationships with industry and customers.

Certificate in Rehabiliation Assistant
The Rehabilitation Assistant program provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide safe and competent rehabilitative care to clients and their families. Rehabilitation assistants perform their duties under the supervision of a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist and/or physical therapist.
Program curriculum includes a variety of frequently encountered rehabilitation simulations to help students develop effective communication and client safety. Two, preceptor-led work practicum rotations (six weeks in duration each) put students in real-world experiences where they can practice and improve their skills. The new Client Service Specialist Certificate (CSSC) is a distinctive program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education Council (MTEC). Although students will receive the MITT credential upon successful completion, the nine months of occupational specific, career development and technical courses are delivered by MTEC in a classroom located in MTEC’s facility (Unit 3 -75 Scurfield Blvd). At the end of the program, MTEC will connect students with their numerous employer contacts for a one-month, unpaid work practicum.

Theory and comprehensive hands-on projects ensure Electrical Applications students gain the knowledge and skills necessary to install, operate, troubleshoot, service and repair electrical equipment in residential, commercial and industrial settings. MITT’s Industrial Welding certificate program helps students build a strong foundation of the knowledge and skills required to design and build products by cutting and joining materials using ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Students work independently or in teams using current welding and fabrication equipment to complete projects in a learning environment that simulates an industrial welding shop. To complement their technical skills with the employability and essential skills employers demand, all students participate in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops.
This program is affiliated with CWA (Canadian Welding Association), CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) and Apprenticeship Manitoba. Students who successfully complete the program and meet eligibility criteria can receive credit toward their continued apprenticeship path or earn select certifications through CWB. Graduates who meet specific criteria can also earn credit toward Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1.

Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Students who desire careers as Early Childhood Educator IIs (ECE IIs) will acquire the knowledge and skills required to work with children, aged newborn to 12 years old, through this provincially accredited* and comprehensive diploma program.
Working closely with instructors, and in groups, students develop their understanding of child development, guiding techniques, and play-based curriculum, including art, music, literature and science, while learning to create and implement meaningful, age-appropriate, culturally diverse and inclusive programming for children.

There is no rest for the machinery and industrial equipment found in modern industry so the industrial mechanic/millwright must diagnose problems and create solutions to keep things running smoothly.
It’s an exciting challenge that might find you milling custom parts or inventing your own tool along the way to get the job done.
Through a mix of theory and hands-on learning, students in MITT’s Industrial Mechanic/Millwright program develop a variety of machine shop skills—including operation of cut-off saws, drill presses, lathes, and milling machines—learn how to read blueprints, and use precision measuring and layout instruments.
Eligible students may participate in a three-week work practicum where they can practice their skills and get on-the-job guidance from a veteran industrial mechanic/millwright.
