The Human Resources Learning and Development Post-Graduate Diploma program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience essential to a successful career in the human resources learning and development field. Students learn the principles and practices as well as the practical skills needed to work as an HR generalist or advisor or to pursue work in the field of adult training and development.

Students will begin with an overview and understanding of core HR functions that exist in today’s workplace, and then build on these concepts by focusing on the knowledge and skills specific to adult learning and development, thus being ready for a broad array of opportunities in HR and learning, training, and talent development. The Human Resources Learning and Development Work-Integrated Project will pair students with industry partners to propose, plan and execute a project that contributes to a learning and development need within the industry partner’s organization. Students in the NSA program develop comprehensive skills in network infrastructure support using Cisco Systems and Microsoft products to create a secure enterprise network. Hands-on work in advanced labs outfitted with industry-grade hardware and software teaches students routing, switching, as well as firewall and server technologies to deploy a reliable and redundant network that also supports remote access and wide area interconnectivity.

NSA students are concurrently enrolled in the Cisco Networking Academy and completed credits can be used as prerequisites for further Cisco training. The program is a member of the VMWare IT Academic Program and is a CompTIA Associate.

Students in the NSA program are prepared to write the certification exams for Microsoft MCSE and MCSA, Cisco CCENT, CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+, and Linux LPI. The cost of certification exams is not included in tuition, but students are eligible for discount vouchers.

The Automotive Service Technician program will have its first intake in Fall 2021. This program is an updated version of the Auto Mechanics program, which has undergone curriculum and structural changes to better align with industry needs.

The Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology (MITT) and the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), a center of excellence for trade accreditation, have partnered and are now providing the Post Graduate Certificate in International Business (PGIB)  which will prepare up and coming trade practitioners for a successful career in International Business. This one year, multi-credentialed program explores the strategies needed to establish an enduring global presence.

MITT's Post Graduate Certificate in International Business prepares students for a successful career by broadening their knowledge, skills, and appreciation of the customs and practices that affect business activities when dealing with other countries. Students will be exposed to a wealth of topics related to international business, confront some of the dynamic issues and challenges of international business, and master strategies to establish an enduring global presence. This program is offered in partnership with the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT), global business experts established by industry and government.

The new Client Service Specialist Certificate (CSSC) is a distinctive program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education Council (MTEC). Although students will receive the MITT credential upon successful completion, the nine months of occupational specific, career development and technical courses are delivered by MTEC in a classroom located in MTEC’s facility (Unit 3 -75 Scurfield Blvd). At the end of the program, MTEC will connect students with their numerous employer contacts for a one-month, unpaid work practicum.

Upon graduation, students will receive a MITT certificate and will be equipped with the transferable skills required for front-line employment in multiple industry-sectors. Students will also have the opportunity to receive the following industry recognized certificates in various courses and workshops throughout the CSSC program:

  • Microsoft Office Specialist Certificate
  • Emergency First Aid Level C and Level 1 AED
  • Winnipeg Ambassador
  • Handling Difficult Situations
  • WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials and Information Systems)


This program held at MTEC’s facility also includes:

Certificate in Motosport Technician

MITT’s Motosport Technician certificate program teaches students how to use the tools and equipment required for modern marine and outdoor power equipment maintenance and repair and helps them build a foundation of knowledge about vehicle systems including:

Tune-up and diagnostics
Advanced technologies such as fuel injection and anti-lock brake systems.

Eligible students can apply the skills they learn in class to real-world situations during a four-week work practicum with an industry employer and their participation in MITT’s Work Skills Series workshops will ensure they bring the employability and essential skills employers demand, to the workplace. Graduates who meet specific criteria can earn credit toward Apprenticeship Manitoba Level 1. 

Work Practicum:-
The Motosport Technician program may feature a Work Practicum placement in a local workplace which provides students with on-the-job training and experience. Students will apply skills learned in the classroom and develop new skills through working within an actual employer’s facility.

Sales and Event Coordinator (SEC) is a new and innovative program MITT has developed in partnership with the Manitoba Tourism Education College (MTEC). The successful and long standing cross institutional partnership with the college and sector council benefits students in all areas of training and employment. Although students will receive the MITT credential upon successful completion, the 10 months of occupational specific, career development and technical courses are delivered by MTEC. MTEC's facility is located close to MITT, on Scurfield Blvd. At the end of the program, MTEC will connect eligible students with one of their numerous industry contacts to practice their skills in a 120 hour work practicum.

Upon successful completion, students will receive a MITT certificate and will have the confidence needed to excel in a fast paced and dynamic environment while building relationships with industry and customers.
