Co-operative Education: Co-op integrates relevant work experience with your academic studies giving you an edge on the competition following graduation. Students must maintain an overall 70% GPA per semester in order to maintain co-op status and have no more than one failed or withdrawn course.

Learn intervention, protection and rehabilitation skills to help victims of crime, at-risk youth and incarcerated adult offenders.

• Prepares participants for provincial testing by the TSSA for Oil Burner Technician 3 (OBT 3) and Gas Technician 3 (G3) certification.

• Students have the option to transition into the second semester of the Gas and Oil Burner Technician || (049) program, in order to obtain their Oil Burner Technician 2 (OBT 2) and Gas Technician 2 (G2) certification.

Biotechnology encompasses a wide field of studies including molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics (including genetic engineering), cell biology,  microbiology (including forensics and food processing), analytical instrumentation, and  bioengineering.

The program is designed to prepare students as biotechnology technicians through the familiarization with scientific methods and experimental techniques, in accordance with accepted principles of quality assurance and manufacturing.

The first academic semester is common with the Environmental Technician and Biotechnology Technician (Health) program of studies, followed by three semesters focusing on specialized courses relating to manufacturing, and laboratory quantitative and qualitative analyses in the field of biotechnology.

Co-op Format

Experience the rewarding challenges of operating and maintaining of facility equipment related to steam and power generation.

This program is accredited Power (Operating) Engineer by the Technical Standards and Safety Authority (TSSA), providing an opportunity for reduced operator time towards certification.

Gain the academic and practical experiences necessary to succeed as a Power Engineer, from real-life experiences taught by certified Operating Engineers.

There is a high demand for operating engineers at all levels and 4th Class Power Engineers may decide to pursue higher certification, up to and including, 1st Class.

What you'll learn

• Explore the use of steam and hot water boilers, air compressors, refrigeration, air conditioning, and auxiliary equipment.
• Understand the use of prime movers, turbines, and co-generation processes. 
• Importance of electrotechnology, instrumentation, combustion and the environmental impacts in a steam plant.
• Prepare for the Technical Standards and Safety Authority 4th Class Power Operating Engineering exams, both 4A and 4B.
