Welding Technologists are big picture thinkers. They inspect and produce welding projects and supervise welding teams. You’ll learn effective communication tools, applied welding knowledge, and advanced quality control procedures. The scope of learning ranges from basic welding and steel fabrication to specialized training in robotics, metallurgy, and weld inspection methods and design. You’ll practice your learning and network with trade professionals during work practicums. Welding Technologists are hired by competitive companies for the insight and leadership they provide.

Financial Managers are trusted decision-makers. They research and analyze companies and effectively communicate with clients. You’ll learn about risk and return, portfolio evaluation, securities terminology, market operations, financial planning, the psychology of investing, insurance basics, and sales techniques. Our program incorporates the nationally recognized Canadian Securities Institute curriculum and offers real work experience. This is an education you can literally take to the bank.

The Business Administration: Financial Management program will prepare you to write the Canadian Securities Course Examination or the Canadian Investment Funds Exam. Graduates of the two-year Business Administration program who have achieved a minimum of a 70% average each program year may be able to transfer into the third year of a four-year degree program at Cape Breton University (CBU) or the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ). NBCC is committed to furthering our university relationships; therefore, other university agreements may be available.

In accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Building Code, you’ll learn fundamental wiring practices, pipe threading and bending techniques, cable tray installation, and other necessary skills. Programmer Analysts are specialists in computer programming. They design and develop software systems and then learn how to apply them in a business-oriented environment. You’ll learn essential information technology skills and how to program for businesses. Upon graduation, we offer a work practicum at an employer's site. In our Educational Assistant program, you'll learn how to implement universal design principles for learning to support an inclusive environment; and techniques, including conflict resolution, to help a varied group of learners meet their educational goals. Please note: Students who have successfully completed the Network Support program have the opportunity to enter directly into the second year of the Network Administration program.

Electronics Engineering Technologists are always plugged in. They know how to diagnose and solve electronic system issues and develop best practices. You'll learn how to design, commission, test, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain and support electronic systems. During your second year, further specialization is available in communication systems and biomedical systems at our Saint John campus, and industrial controls at our Moncton campus. In this wired world, Electronics Engineering Technologists are never short on work.

The Building Engineering Technology program is designed to train students in the analysis, design, drawing, detailing, and presentation of commercial building projects. The first year of training covers engineering technology basics such as engineering science, materials technology, surveying, and computer-aided drafting. Many courses are common with other technology programs and may be used for credit transfer. In the second year, students specialize in subjects that relate more specifically to building engineering.

Throughout the program, students will learn and apply the knowledge and skills in a real, practical, and simulated environment through lectures, extensive hands-on activities, and individual or team projects.
