July 1, 2014 marked a dramatic change in the practice of pharmacy in New Brunswick. As pharmacists expand their scope, spending increasing amounts of time in direct patient care, the opportunity for pharmacy technicians to take more responsibility in patient care has created a need for regulation of pharmacy technicians. Our program, nationally accredited by the Canadian Council of Accreditation for Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), combines an exciting blend of theory, lab classes and applied workplace experiences in hospital and community pharmacies. You will learn the technical facets of pharmacy practices that will ensure a high standard of patient care and the safe distribution of drug products in varied practice settings.

Welding and Metal Fabrication each contain unique areas of expertise. This program provides you with a foundational knowledge of both trades. You’ll learn how to read blueprints and plan and implement welding and fabrication processes. This includes the cutting and layout through to fitting and fabrication, as well as common welding processes such as shielded metal arc, flux cored arc, and gas metal arc. Our program pairs in-depth coursework with hands-on welding and fabricating experience in order to get you job-ready.

Motorcycle Mechanics find freedom and adventure in working with vehicles outside of the box. They diagnose and repair motorcycle systems, including: two and four stroke engines, carburetion, fuel injection and electrical systems. Electronics Engineering Technologists are always plugged in. They know how to diagnose and solve electronic system issues and develop best practices. You'll learn how to design, commission, test, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain and support electronic systems. During your second year, further specialization is available in communication systems and biomedical systems at our Saint John campus, and industrial controls at our Moncton campus. The Community Pharmacy Assistant program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to be employed as a pharmacy assistant in a community pharmacy setting.

Areas of study include anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, communication skills, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacy calculations, non-sterile compounding techniques, long term care pharmacy, receiving and entering a prescription, pharmacy software, inventory and third-party billing. Interpersonal communication skills is developed and evaluated along with other related skills in laboratory sessions on campus and during the practicum period.
