They understand the methods behind using a variety of tools to measure, cut, drill, form, shape, grind and finish metal, plastic or similar materials. You’ll learn how to produce parts based on engineered drawings and how to diagnose mechanical malfunctions. The Educational Support program prepares learners for a career in educational settings supporting students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, sensory or physical disabilities and behavioural challenges. In accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code and the National Building Code, you’ll learn fundamental wiring practices, pipe threading and bending techniques, cable tray installation, and other necessary skills. The Human Service Practitioner program prepares learners for a career in the field of human services.  Graduates will work alongside individuals, their families and their communities, playing an active role in assisting them to meet their needs and increase participation in society. The program focuses on assisting vulnerable individuals with complex needs who are experiencing challenges in daily life.
Learners will acquire knowledge and skills in strength-based individualized and group programming, communication, human development, exceptionalities, counselling strategies, ethical conduct, crisis response and behavioural change. This knowledge will be integral to assisting individuals to develop and keep valued social roles.
