Welding Technologists are big picture thinkers. They inspect and produce welding projects and supervise welding teams. You’ll learn effective communication tools, applied welding knowledge, and advanced quality control procedures. The scope of learning ranges from basic welding and steel fabrication to specialized training in robotics, metallurgy, and weld inspection methods and design. You’ll practice your learning and network with trade professionals during work practicums. Welding Technologists are hired by competitive companies for the insight and leadership they provide.

Steel fabrication includes assembling, fitting and installing steel or other metal components for buildings, bridges, boilers, pressure vessels and similar structures and products. You'll learn how to cut, form, bend, assemble, erect and weld metals. With training in steel fabrication, you'll make a great addition to any fabrication team specializing in your area of interest.

Automotive Technicians know how to keep fuel efficient, clean running, high performing vehicles on the road. Through a blend of classroom and practical work, you'll learn how to diagnose, service, and repair complex components using mechanical skills and electronic diagnostic equipment. This apprenticeable trade will prepare you well for contemporary computerized shops. With options for further study or work experience, your road ahead is wide open.

Management in Culinary Arts is about preparation, presentation, and balance. From knowing what menu items pair well to developing budgets and leading cook and service teams, managers have their plates full. You’ll learn advanced skills in food preparation, banquet style presentation, culinary abilities, and menu analysis and design. CNC Machinists are fascinated by the complex relationship between computers and machine tools. From high-tech mountain bikes to advanced fighter jets, they use numerically controlled technology to innovate machine functions by building key parts. You’ll learn how to program, set up, troubleshoot and operate advanced machine tools. This combination of practical, hands-on experience and technical theory will set you up for a prosperous career in the metalworking industries.

Automotive Service Technicians are vehicle surgeons. They know how to diagnose, service and repair a wide range of vehicle issues, including: steering, electrical, suspension, brakes, engines, fuel, exhaust, electronics and accessories for these systems. You’ll become an expert in vehicle anatomy and you’ll learn how to master shop tools and techniques such as brazing, cutting, and welding. With half a million vehicles on the road in New Brunswick, Automotive Service Technicians have their work lined up.

Financial Managers are trusted decision-makers. They research and analyze companies and effectively communicate with clients. You’ll learn about risk and return, portfolio evaluation, securities terminology, market operations, financial planning, the psychology of investing, insurance basics, and sales techniques. The Business Administration: Financial Management program will prepare you to write the Canadian Securities Course Examination or the Canadian Investment Funds Exam. Graduates of the two-year Business Administration program who have achieved a minimum of a 70% average each program year may be able to transfer into the third year of a four-year degree program at Cape Breton University (CBU) or the University of New Brunswick Saint John (UNBSJ). NBCC is committed to furthering our university relationships; therefore, other university agreements may be available.
