The Educational Support program prepares learners for a career in educational settings supporting students with learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, sensory or physical disabilities and behavioural challenges. This program will prepare learners to be part of a multidisciplinary team that supports students with diverse learning needs while maintaining a safe and inclusive environment that promotes students’ well-being.

July 1, 2014 marked a dramatic change in the practice of pharmacy in New Brunswick. As pharmacists expand their scope, spending increasing amounts of time in direct patient care, the opportunity for pharmacy technicians to take more responsibility in patient care has created a need for regulation of pharmacy technicians. Our program, nationally accredited by the Canadian Council of Accreditation for Pharmacy Programs (CCAPP), combines an exciting blend of theory, lab classes and applied workplace experiences in hospital and community pharmacies. Working with steel can help you build a meaningful career in a number of settings. Steel fabrication includes assembling, fitting and installing steel or other metal components for buildings, bridges, boilers, pressure vessels and similar structures and products. You'll learn how to cut, form, bend, assemble, erect and weld metals. With training in steel fabrication, you'll make a great addition to any fabrication team specializing in your area of interest.

The Social Service Community Worker program prepares learners for a career in the social and human services fields. By working with and supporting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, graduates can bring about meaningful change within society.

Learners acquire knowledge and ability in the areas of human development and relations, family dynamics and support, interpersonal communications, counseling, program planning, social policy and legislation, and advocacy. In this program, there’s a focus on how to effectively intervene and work with a diverse clientele who may be experiencing poverty, domestic violence, social, emotional, behavioral or mental health trauma, or other challenging life events.

Within this diploma program, learners also participate in experiential and applied learning opportunities that allow further integration of theory and application.

Chemical Technologists focus on quality assurance and problem-solving. They install and maintain complex equipment and conduct sophisticated chemical analyses. Work settings may include labs, offices, or fieldwork. As a key member of a scientific team, you’ll learn the skills to excel in chemical research, pilot-plant operations, quality control, and process industries. Your frequent participation in co-op work terms will allow you to put your knowledge to practice while learning about unique client needs.

Accounting basics are central to good business. With this program, you’ll learn intermediate accounting knowledge to assist your clients, such as how to prepare and present financial statements and skills in marketing, payroll, computing, and accounts receivable and payable. The Community Pharmacy Assistant program is designed to provide students with the skills necessary to be employed as a pharmacy assistant in a community pharmacy setting.

Areas of study include anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, communication skills, pharmacy law and ethics, pharmacy calculations, non-sterile compounding techniques, long term care pharmacy, receiving and entering a prescription, pharmacy software, inventory and third-party billing. Interpersonal communication skills is developed and evaluated along with other related skills in laboratory sessions on campus and during the practicum period.
