Carpentry is a performance-driven career. Carpenters work with their hands to construct, erect, install, and repair structures and fixtures for residential and light commercial use. In addition to practical skills such as framing walls, siding and drywall installation, constructing wooden forms for pouring concrete, and erecting scaffolding, you’ll also learn about codes, standards, and quality concepts that apply to carpentry. As experts in home and business improvement, carpenters are called upon to make dreams possible and lives easier and more enjoyable.

The Social Service Community Worker program prepares learners for a career in the social and human services fields. By working with and supporting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, graduates can bring about meaningful change within society.

Learners acquire knowledge and ability in the areas of human development and relations, family dynamics and support, interpersonal communications, counseling, program planning, social policy and legislation, and advocacy. In this program, there’s a focus on how to effectively intervene and work with a diverse clientele who may be experiencing poverty, domestic violence, social, emotional, behavioral or mental health trauma, or other challenging life events.

Within this diploma program, learners also participate in experiential and applied learning opportunities that allow further integration of theory and application.

The Steamfitter/Pipefitter trade is unique because it's the only one that specializes in the planning, design, and installation of low and high pressure steam systems and installation methods for each. They build, maintain and repair piping systems that carry just about anything that can be transported through a pipe: water, steam, fluids, gasses, chemicals, fuels, woodchips, etc.

This program will give you entry-level knowledge and practical experience required to pursue a career as a steamfitter/ pipefitter. You'll learn to assemble, install, maintain and repair pipes carrying water, steam chemicals and fuel in heating, cooling, lubricating and other process piping systems. Hoisting, lifting and rigging are also part of the curriculum. Trade theory and practical experience is supported by courses in communications and mathematics. Workplace safety is emphasized.

Marine Diesel Mechanics are engine specialists. They have expert knowledge of electrical and engine systems in diesel-powered marine vessels and equipment. You’ll learn how to install, repair and maintain major mechanical components of commercial machinery. Your training will also transfer to other trades, including: Heavy Equipment Service Technician and Truck and Transport Service Technician. Water transportation is vital to industry and leisure, and Marine Diesel Mechanics are wanted across the globe in various sectors.

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians are experts in creating a comfortable atmosphere. They install and repair residential, commercial and industrial refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Through classroom lectures, labs, and Computer-Based Training (CBT), you’ll learn about refrigeration system operations and safety practices related to the trade. As residential and business developments continue nationwide, trained Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technicians are wanted by construction and manufacturing teams.
