You’ll learn how to design, implement, troubleshoot and administer secure networks and internetworks, as well as advanced skills in network and internet operating systems, network infrastructure, administration, and security. As electronic communication continues to dominate industries, business leaders rely upon network administrators for success.

Please note: Students who have successfully completed the Network Support program have the opportunity to enter directly into the second year of the Network Administration program.

Are you interested in a career in Trades, but uncertain which field is the best fit for you?  The Skilled Trades Techniques program provides you with the opportunity to explore a variety of trades prior to committing to one specific trade.  In the first year, examine four different trade areas such as bricklaying, carpentry, electrical, plumbing, welding, truck and transport, and marine diesel mechanics. You’ll also acquire general skills such as safety, rigging and hoisting, tools and equipment, communication skills, mathematics, and blueprint reading, which are applicable to any trades position.
 
In the second year, you’ll specialize in the specific trade of your choosing and gain in-depth skills in this area. You’ll be on your way to a full-time career as a tradesperson in your given field. There is a focus on practical hands-on learning in our shops throughout the program and a work placement during the second year. Trades people are in high demand throughout New Brunswick with many of our students having job offers even before graduation. The best way to find out if a trade is for you is to give it a try.
 

Early Childhood Educators are focused on developing holistic education programs. You'll learn to design and facilitate children’s activities while encouraging interpersonal behaviour and inclusivity. Early Childhood Education is about helping children learn through play, but it's also about embodying effective communication skills, friendliness, sensitivity, and other compassionate qualities. Parents and care facilities are always on the lookout for patient and reliable early childhood educators.

Industrial Electricians have strong analytical minds and an appreciation for workplace safety. They install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls. You'll learn how to use computer software for troubleshooting and equipment calibration. Our program also allows you to challenge the Apprenticeship Block 1 Examination at the end of the academic year. As the push to replace dated electrical factory equipment continues, Industrial Electricians are in high demand.

Plumbers see each water distribution and drainage system as an interesting challenge. They use hand and power tools to fix plumbing fixtures and install water systems. You’ll learn about hot water facilities and sewage systems, as well as how to assemble, install and repair pipes, fixtures and fittings. After learning how to interpret basic blueprints, you’ll have the necessary skills to layout a complete plumbing system according to specific building codes. Employment in plumbing is stable in every economic market and competent plumbers find work fast.

Hotel and Restaurant Managers understand the importance of leisure and luxury to the human experience. They are trusted business leaders who inspire efficient and confident work environments. You'll learn advanced skills in accommodations, food, beverage, and tourism operations. The 21st century has been transformed by the tourism industry, and trained managers who know how to balance all aspects of business to create one-of-a-kind experiences for clients are in high demand.

International Travel and Tourism professionals know that personal growth starts with fresh scenery and a sense of adventure. They explore new social, geographical, and cultural terrains. Our program combines classroom work, industry attachments, practical work experience and international travel. While most other travel and tourism programs include a branded packaged tour for their students, this innovative program sees you researching, developing, and facilitating an international tour of your own design. You'll gain marketing and sales skills to develop and implement tourism destination products in the areas of sport, culture, adventure, entertainment, recreation, food, education, and history. International Travel is both a science and art; experts are needed to fulfill dreams today.

The Social Service Community Worker program prepares learners for a career in the social and human services fields. By working with and supporting the well-being of individuals, families, and communities, graduates can bring about meaningful change within society.

Learners acquire knowledge and ability in the areas of human development and relations, family dynamics and support, interpersonal communications, counseling, program planning, social policy and legislation, and advocacy. In this program, there’s a focus on how to effectively intervene and work with a diverse clientele who may be experiencing poverty, domestic violence, social, emotional, behavioral or mental health trauma, or other challenging life events.

Within this diploma program, learners also participate in experiential and applied learning opportunities that allow further integration of theory and application.

Network Support professionals are the backbone of modern business. They offer desktop and server support and are skilled in repair and configuration. You’ll learn how to build, maintain, and upgrade a computer network infrastructure using the Cisco Networking Academy CCNA suite of courses. Our hands on approach to learning means that you’ll also create and control your own computer network in our fully equipped lab. As electronic communication continues to dominate industries, business leaders rely upon network administrators for success.

You may choose to exit the program at the certificate plan level, or continue on for another year to complete the Network Administration diploma level of certification.
