Sault College`s Electrical Engineering Technician - Process Automation and Trades program is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to pursue a career as an Electrical Engineering Technician and/or as an Industrial or Construction Electrician. Classroom instruction (semesters one through four) at Sault College will provide you with the basics of electricity and electronics as well as related subjects such as computer technology, industrial electronics, instrumentation, electrical machines, power electronics, and automated control systems. These skills will prepare you for a career in industrial environments with the electrical trades. Graduates will have a wide variety of skills including those required to install, test, modify, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems.

The General Arts and Science UniversityTransfer diploma gives you the opportunity to explore a wide variety of subject areas such as communications, social sciences, humanities, the arts or math and science at a postsecondary level, and discover what it is that interests you. The UniversityTransfer diploma program also provides you with an excellent foundation for a university education, another diploma program or a career that requires wide-ranging and flexible, transferable skills, which meet the needs of many employers. This program can be taken full or part time allowing you flexibility in your studies.

During this in-class and experiential two-semester PR program you’ll learn successful public relations strategies, dynamic presentation skills, strategic communication techniques and in-depth training in media relations.

Plus through engaging event planning courses, gain expert instruction in online event planning, and fundraising for corporate and non-profit sectors.

There’s no doubt you’ll make waves in this field! As you earn your public relations diploma, gain real event management and PR experience through organizing events and executing campaigns for real clients – this is not your typical public relations college in Ontario. This program also includes a four-week Field Placement opportunity that enables students to apply their knowledge and skills with a local organization.

This eight-month program, unique in the province of Ontario, is designed for those who don`t have a business-related background or education, but recognize the importance of having key knowledge of business to enhance job prospects and for advancement in their careers. In only a few months, you will develop the skills in the key areas of management, marketing, accounting, finance, human resource management and other critical business-related functions, while earning a graduate certificate from a recognized post-secondary program. Most other college programs take two years to give you the level of study you will gain at Sault College in less than one. Business knowledge is recognized as a necessary piece of one`s portfolio when actively seeking exciting opportunities in the domestic and global marketplace. The Gerontology Certificate Program provides students with the knowledge and skills for not only understanding, but also successfully working with and on behalf of older clients.

Emphasis is on services for elders using a holistic, quality-focused and inter-professional approach aimed at reaching safe and optimal level of functioning. In addition, students will be provided the skill set to become leaders as elder-advocates.

The 3-year Mechanical Engineering Technology advanced diploma program will give you what it takes to help bring design to life!
Through in-class instruction and a world-class lab simulating the manufacturing environment, gain the critical skills to become an integral member of today’s engineering teams, including:

• Improving engineering designs through analysis

The Metal Fabrication Technician (welder-fitter) program at Sault College will provide you with the thorough knowledge and understanding needed in the fields of welding and fabricating. The first year of this two-year program concentrates on covering welding techniques, while the second year focuses on more in-depth knowledge related to how to build structures made of metal. During your education, you will be taught how to safely and effectively lay out and then build the parts needed for large projects like bridges, buildings, towers and platforms. You will also learn how to construct and repair steel stairs, boilers, tanks, chutes, hoppers, stacks, and other assemblies and steel structures. Skilled instructors will teach you how to successfully plan interesting projects, quote the costs of materials needed, and use state-of-the-art equipment to make parts for projects with varying degrees of difficulty and assemble them.

The Office Administration - Executive program is an accelerated course of study that will provide you with the opportunity to develop the skills and productivity tools needed to be a key part of the success in today`s highly specialized offices. In only three semesters taken consecutively, you can master the skills and knowledge traditionally offered in a full two-year semester program, earning you an Ontario College diploma in only 46 weeks.

The program includes a work placement to ensure you have the experience and connections you need to succeed in business, while providing you with in-depth training in all major software applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation graphics, database management, desktop publishing, webpage design, the Internet, and automated accounting. Emphasis is also placed on developing your decision-making, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, so you can be ready to embrace the opportunities before you.
Best of all, by completing the program at a non-traditional time of year, you will enter the job market at a time when most others are not, giving you unique advantage in your job search in an increasingly competitive economy.

The Automated Manufacturing program at Sault College will help students gain knowledge, expertise and professional skills related to computer numerical controlled machined (CNC), additive manufacturing (3D printing) and robotics applications and automation used in various sectors of industry. These industries include precision machining shops, automotive, manufacturing, food packaging, medical, aerospace and many more. This program features new, state of the art CNC mill and lathe equipment, 3D printers and a new world class laboratory equipped with the latest robotics equipment installed in a simulated manufacturing environment.

This 2 year program structure provides a balanced schedule strongly emphasizing art creations and production. Initial semesters pay special attention to traditional arts, in recognition of traditional art skills as a foundation for digital art skills. Each semester has at least one class outside art production, covering other areas crucial to a game artists development. By the final semester, studio style digital art production is heavily emphasized in preparation for the students entering the workforce. Students may have the opportunity to be involved in applied research projects.
