Advanced Diploma in Computer Systems Technology (Co-op Optional)

This eight-month graduate certificate program is designed to provide you with leadership skills to support the global hospitality service economy. You will be able to respond to the shift in global economic and business management practices from product to service. An emphasis is placed on recognizing new opportunities and developing new service categories and market segments while supporting the implementation of organizational change.

This three-year advanced diploma program introduces you to a broad background in analog and digital electronics, software development, modern communications and control systems. Topics covered include electronic circuitry, diagnostic techniques, microcontrollers, process control and computer systems and networks, along with digital communications, control systems and mechatronics. During the final year, you will focus on applying the principles you have learned to design and testing electronic projects.

Optional Co-op
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In programs with limited co-op opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

This four-year honours bachelor degree will provide you with extensive knowledge and technical skills in software development languages. This program also covers topics in operating systems, web applications, multimedia interfaces, information security, databases, system analysis and design principles. You will also develop communication skills to effectively present technical ideas.

Work Experience
Mandatory Degree Co-op
A work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment.  In most cases the work term(s) is a paid position that is completed between two academic semesters and requires a minimum of 420 hours of work. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of two co-op work terms is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the mandatory co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

This two-year diploma program is designed to prepare you for a career in the vibrant global hotel and hospitality industry. Not only will you work closely with your peers and professors who are industry professionals, but you will learn and practise through paid work experience key skills employers are seeking, including exceptional guest service, industry standard software applications, cultural diversity and management skills.

As you begin your studies with a common first semester, you can specialize in hotel and restaurant service or wedding and conference planning. The art of floral design requires expertise with colour, materials, shape and space. Floral designers must understand how flowers and foliage become tools to achieve the right arrangement for the occasion. The eight-month Floral Design certificate program frames this understanding in a creative and business context to allow for artistic arrangements that satisfy the aesthetics of the designer and the customer.

Through active, hands-on learning experiences in the floral lab, you will understand how to integrate theory and practice to produce the perfect design.

The Honours Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics program is the first-of-its-kind in Ontario. This four-year degree program was designed to meet the growing need for data-driven business solutions. The tourism sector is a large economic growth contributor in Ontario, Canada and the world. This two-year diploma program will help you establish a service-driven attitude and develop your business and entrepreneurial skills to create, promote and sell global tourism products and services. You will graduate as a specialist in tourism destination innovation and implementing exciting new tourism services.

You will develop business skills in marketing, sales and customer relations, negotiation, risk management, industry-specific global distribution systems, local and international tourism destinations and geography.

In semester two of the program, you can continue your studies in the Tourism – Services Management, Global Tourism Business concentration or switch to Travel Services. Switching is seamless with a common first semester in both programs.

Field Placement
You will complete 150 hours of unpaid placement in the fourth semester in one of the tourism and travel segments. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester courses before accepting a field placement position.

This two-year diploma program prepares you for entry-level roles on the front line of the financial services industry.

You will learn fundamental business principles and practices that will allow you to provide financial advice related to day-to-day banking, credit and mutual fund investments. You will have the opportunity to complete industry-demanded courses that will open career opportunities in the investment and property and casualty insurance industries. In addition to the customer service training that you will receive as part of this program, you will choose further courses in one of four areas (emotional intelligence, business ethics, negotiation strategies, or intercultural behaviour and communication) to enhance your professional skills.
