The tourism sector is a large economic growth contributor in Ontario, Canada and the world. This two-year diploma program will help you establish a service-driven attitude and develop your business and entrepreneurial skills to create, promote and sell global tourism products and services. You will graduate as a specialist in tourism destination innovation and implementing exciting new tourism services.

You will develop business skills in marketing, sales and customer relations, negotiation, risk management, industry-specific global distribution systems, local and international tourism destinations and geography.

In semester two of the program, you can continue your studies in the Tourism – Services Management, Global Tourism Business concentration or switch to Travel Services. Switching is seamless with a common first semester in both programs.

Optional Co-op
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a full-time paid position completed between two academic semesters.? In programs with limited co-op opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade?on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility.? Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position. 

Field Placement
You will complete 150 hours of unpaid placement in the fourth semester in one of the tourism and travel segments. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester courses before accepting a field placement position.

This two-year diploma program will provide you with a solid foundation of marketing. You will have a detailed understanding of integrated marketing communications, selling, strategies and analysis, web design, research and channel management.

You will be equipped with tools and techniques to create multi-objective marketing strategies, including promotional campaigns, pricing, packaging and distribution of products, services and ideas. You will also benefit from problem-based learning, real-world projects and case studies.

This eight-month certificate program will introduce you to modern manufacturing techniques including programming and Computer Assisted Manufacturing (CAM). You will study both theory and practical aspects of modern metal machining and cutting while focusing on programming, advanced manufacturing techniques and interpreting engineering drawings.

The art of floral design requires expertise with colour, materials, shape and space. Floral designers must understand how flowers and foliage become tools to achieve the right arrangement for the occasion. The eight-month Floral Design certificate program frames this understanding in a creative and business context to allow for artistic arrangements that satisfy the aesthetics of the designer and the customer.

Through active, hands-on learning experiences in the floral lab, you will understand how to integrate theory and practice to produce the perfect design.

The Cloud Architecture & Administration graduate certificate program will provide you with knowledge and skills to become an essential part of a modern information technology (IT) team. You will also develop an understanding of potential issues with privacy and the law and how to mitigate those risks. During the program, you will gain essential leadership and management skills, providing opportunities for you to advance in your career.

An optional work-integrated learning experience will offer an opportunity to expand your learning and apply skills to real-life work settings. You will also work on a capstone project that integrates knowledge and skills obtained throughout the program.

This program includes a mandatory work placement that applies theoretical and practical knowledge in a real-world setting.

Mandatory Degree Co-op
A work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment. In most cases the work term(s) is a paid position that is completed between two academic semesters and requires a minimum of 420 hours of work. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of the co-op work term(s) is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the mandatory co-op stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

Field Placement
To support your learning, a field placement work experience must be completed. This experiential learning opportunity will provide you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you learned in a financial planning setting, while also gaining valuable work experience.

This experience requires you to engage in a minimum of 140 hours of financial planning-related employment activities, either part time during your studies or full time at the end of the program. The field placement experience is an unpaid or paid position that is available to students who are in good academic standing with Seneca and who meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the field placement experience. While eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a field placement position will be secured, students are supported every step of the way by Seneca in locating, applying and obtaining a field placement experience with industry partners.
