In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will develop a solid understanding of contemporary management theory before learning the skills required to plan, start-up, manage and expand a successful small business. You will learn to research, analyze, plan and assess current situations, contribute to strategies, and lead and work effectively within teams. You will also develop your skills to use applications and technologies to support your organization’s business goals.

Your learning will be further supported by instructors and business owners who will share their expertise and guide you through the process of identifying innovative and promising venture ideas from their business plans. Seminars, case analysis and online business simulations will be an integral part of your learning process.
As a student of this program, you may earn the opportunity to participate in Seneca’s Shark’s Pond event. Here, you will pitch and defend your business ideas to industry leaders. Many past competitors have launched their business ideas after graduating.

In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will develop in-depth technical knowledge of financial accounting, cost and managerial accounting, taxation, financial management, auditing and technology applications.

Optional Co-op
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional co-op work term(s) in a formal work environment. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. The four-year Honours Bachelor of Child Development degree program prepares you for expansive opportunities across the health, education, and social service sectors. Upon completion of this program, you will be able to pursue careers in family support services, recreation, early learning and education, infant mental health, and early intervention for children and youth with diverse abilities. You will also qualify to register as a member of the College of Early Childhood Educator and practice as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE).

With ongoing specialization, our students have achieved successful careers in assessment and counselling, child life, elementary teaching, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy. Like many of our graduates, you may choose to complete your Bachelor of Education or a Master of Arts. Our faculty have direct experience in community settings and may help you in facilitating job opportunities.

As a student of this program, you will complete a work term which frequently translates into future employment. Ultimately, our applied learning model crosses various disciplines which will help you to think critically and gain experience in the field that fits your unique interests.

Mandatory Degree Work Term
A work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment. The work term may be a paid or unpaid position that is completed between two academic semesters and requires a minimum of 420 hours of work. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of the work term is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for the mandatory degree work term regardless of success in securing a work position.

This eight-month graduate certificate program is for you if you are aspiring to a career in accounting and finance at an intermediate level. You will build on your previous accounting credential by expanding your skills in taxation, finance, management accounting, financial accounting and information systems.

This three-year advanced diploma program provides you with the skills and knowledge to begin your career as a software developer. You will learn programming languages, program design and system analysis. Web concepts are integrated into all courses to develop active database web programs on a variety of operating systems. Advanced techniques are taught through professional option courses.
You will demonstrate skills through a capstone project for an industry partner in your final year to demonstrate your skills and preparedness for a career in the industry. Graduates of this program will enter the industry with highly employable programming, database, software development and communications skills.

Built on partnerships with industry experts like Cisco, IBM, and Microsoft, our curriculum prepares students to specialize in security, physical and logical network design, as well as enterprise management. This program is comprised of practical courses focusing on hands-on training with computer programs in specialty labs.

Field Placement
To support your learning, a field placement work experience must be completed. This experiential learning opportunity will provide you with the opportunity to apply the knowledge and skills you learned in a financial planning setting, while also gaining valuable work experience.

This experience requires you to engage in a minimum of 140 hours of financial planning-related employment activities, either part time during your studies or full time at the end of the program. The field placement experience is an unpaid or paid position that is available to students who are in good academic standing with Seneca and who meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the field placement experience. While eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a field placement position will be secured, students are supported every step of the way by Seneca in locating, applying and obtaining a field placement experience with industry partners.

In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will gain fundamental skills and knowledge to deal with the challenging and sometimes fast-paced situations within the management function of an organization.
