The four-year Honours Bachelor of Child Development degree program prepares you for expansive opportunities across the health, education, and social service sectors. Upon completion of this program, you will be able to pursue careers in family support services, recreation, early learning and education, infant mental health, and early intervention for children and youth with diverse abilities. You will also qualify to register as a member of the College of Early Childhood Educator and practice as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE).

With ongoing specialization, our students have achieved successful careers in assessment and counselling, child life, elementary teaching, speech and language therapy, and occupational therapy. Like many of our graduates, you may choose to complete your Bachelor of Education or a Master of Arts. Our faculty have direct experience in community settings and may help you in facilitating job opportunities.

As a student of this program, you will complete a work term which frequently translates into future employment. Ultimately, our applied learning model crosses various disciplines which will help you to think critically and gain experience in the field that fits your unique interests.

Mandatory Degree Work Term
A work experience that includes at least one term in a formal work environment. The work term may be a paid or unpaid position that is completed between two academic semesters and requires a minimum of 420 hours of work. Students must be in good standing and meet all identified requirements prior to participating in the work experience. The successful completion of the work term is required for graduation. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee that a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for the mandatory degree work term regardless of success in securing a work position.

This 12-month graduate certificate program is a fast-track option for four-year degree graduates to pursue a career in accounting wishing to pursue the Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA) designation. You will study financial and management accounting, tax, information systems, audit, finance and economics focusing on analysis and interpretation of information and making sound ethical decisions.

You will be introduced to the modern technological environment of business using spreadsheets (Excel), database software (Access) and integrated database application technologies (ERP) through exposure to accounting software package(s). You will also gain industry exposure through research, case studies and projects.

You are eligible to enrol in this program with little or no knowledge of accounting. Upon graduation, you can choose to continue to complete an accounting degree such as Seneca's Accounting and Finance degree, or pursue your CPA professional designation (minimum grade requirements apply).

In this four-semester diploma program, you will learn about the physical, cognitive, social and emotional needs of children. You will understand how to develop and implement inclusive programming in order to support the healthy development of children ranging in age from infancy to school-age.

Your studies will include courses in child development, curriculum. philosophy of education, communication, working with families and administration.

Each week you will spend three days in class and two days practicing your skills in field placement. If you choose to study in the summer, you will have the option to earn your Early Childhood Education (ECE) diploma in 16 months.

Field Placement
Field placement is central to the learning experience, so you will be placed in the field for two days each week during each semester. Field placement provides the opportunity to integrate classroom learning into practice with groups of children in the community.

In this two-year diploma program, you will learn the fundamentals of digital and analog electronics, combined with a foundation in computer technology. This program provides relevant hands—on laboratory work to give you the practical experience, as well as theoretical knowledge of electronic devices, computer programming and diagnostic techniques that the electronics industry values.

This two-year diploma program will develop your knowledge of the complexities of the movement of goods and services across the globe. In addition to building your business management skills and knowledge, you will receive training in international selling and marketing, international trade documentation and transportation selection. You will apply communication, networking and teamwork skills to support international trade, using current applications and tools. You will also understand and learn to prepare documents and follow procedures to support the movement of products and services across international borders.

The Cloud Architecture & Administration graduate certificate program will provide you with knowledge and skills to become an essential part of a modern information technology (IT) team. You will learn how to effectively and securely integrate IT infrastructure, including cloud services, internet of things devices and traditional on-premises equipment. You will also develop an understanding of potential issues with privacy and the law and how to mitigate those risks. In this three-year advanced diploma program, you will learn how to interpret schematic drawings, and use electrical and mechanical diagnostic tools. With an emphasis on automation and robotics, this program is a blend of electronics and mechanical engineering and focuses on training engineering technologists. You will acquire industry specific skills such as operating hydraulic and pneumatic machineries, using programmable logic controllers (PLC), and understanding machine elements and industrial automation. Classes and labs will be delivered in Seneca’s Centre for Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship

This exclusive two-year diploma program is designed to help you develop job-related skills and knowledge in an experiential learning setting preparing you to perform a variety of functions required by the airline industry.

New for 2021: Seneca has launched the Flights Experiential Hub at Newnham Campus. This state-of-the-art training centre is the first of its kind among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It includes a B737 cabin simulator, an A320 door simulator, a mock airline interior cabin, and an aircraft evacuation slide, all to provide you with real-life learning experiences. While many of the program's courses remain online, they are balanced with opportunities to study on-campus, using authentic airline safety and emergency equipment in semesters two, three and four.

Field Placement
As part of your program credit hours, you will complete 150 hours of field placement in the fourth semester. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester subjects before accepting a field placement position.

This three-year advanced diploma program provides you with the skills and knowledge to begin your career as a software developer. You will learn programming languages, program design and system analysis. Web concepts are integrated into all courses to develop active database web programs on a variety of operating systems. Advanced techniques are taught through professional option courses.
You will demonstrate skills through a capstone project for an industry partner in your final year to demonstrate your skills and preparedness for a career in the industry. Graduates of this program will enter the industry with highly employable programming, database, software development and communications skills.
