The Remotely Piloted Aircraft – Business Operations graduate certificate program will prepare you with operational and management skills for developing and sustaining businesses in a wide variety of industries. This includes agriculture, security, construction, mining, government, aerial photography, law enforcement, oil and gas, solar panels and cable power lines, etc.

This drones/drone flying program offers cross-disciplinary learning that includes leveraging business, entrepreneurial topics and flight operations including the study of law, privacy and ethics. Your experience includes flight training at AlteX Academy’s Drone Flight Field. When you graduate, you will be equipped with the ability to ethically and professionally utilize Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) to meet business goals, whether you choose to support an existing business or start a business of your own. You will also be able to ensure compliance with service guidance, company policies and procedures to support RPAS industry safety.

A capstone research project will allow you to investigate, plan and take ownership of an idea that would benefit the use of RPAS. In addition, the program will prepare you to write the exam for the Small Remotely Piloted Aircraft System Advanced Operations Transport Canada certificate, which is mandatory to operate any drones above 250 grams in Canada.

Work Experience
Optional Work Term
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional work term(s) in a formal work environment. The work term(s) is similar in length to an academic semester and typically involves full-time work hours that may be paid or unpaid. In programs with limited work term opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility. Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional work term stream regardless of success in securing a work position.

The art of floral design requires expertise with colour, materials, shape and space. Floral designers must understand how flowers and foliage become tools to achieve the right arrangement for the occasion. The eight-month Floral Design certificate program frames this understanding in a creative and business context to allow for artistic arrangements that satisfy the aesthetics of the designer and the customer.

Through active, hands-on learning experiences in the floral lab, you will understand how to integrate theory and practice to produce the perfect design.

This four-year bachelor degree will provide you with information technology (IT), business management and leadership skills which can be applied to a business. You will be capable of planning and implementing IT strategies and technologies to achieve a competitive advantage in the industry. This program includes a mandatory work placement that applies theoretical and practical knowledge in a real-world setting.

Mandatory Degree Co-op

The Honours Bachelor of Data Science and Analytics program is the first-of-its-kind in Ontario. This four-year degree program was designed to meet the growing need for data-driven business solutions. You will learn to identify and interpret data using algorithms and acquire skills to draw meaningful conclusions. Your knowledge will be enhanced through theory and applied learning with the help of case studies, guest speakers and a co-op work experience. This eight-month Flight Services certificate program is offered in co-operation with major airlines giving you a competitive edge in the airline service industry. In this program, you will develop a diverse range of skills related to safety and emergency procedures, both on the ground and in-flight. You will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviour required to explore a rewarding career in the service-driven aviation industry. You will learn to perform a variety of functions, aircraft safety procedures and essential techniques to deliver an exceptional passenger experience.

This two-year diploma program in accounting will introduce you to the accounting practices, related technology applications, business fundamentals and the soft skills needed to find employment. You will learn how to use computer applications like Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and Access relational database management software.

As a student of this program, assuming specific course grade and GPA requirements are met, and upon completion of five bridging courses, you will be eligible to directly enter Seneca’s Honours Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting & Finance (BACF).
