This eight-month graduate certificate program will help you acquire a comprehensive background in the functions of human resources from both theoretical and practical perspectives. Optional Work Term
Students meeting all academic requirements may have the opportunity to complete an optional work term(s) in a formal work environment.? The work term(s) is similar in length to an academic semester and typically involves full-time work hours that may be paid or unpaid. In programs with limited work term opportunities, additional academic requirements and a passing grade?on a communication assessment may be required for eligibility.? Eligibility for participation does not guarantee a work position will be secured. Additional fees are required for those participating in the optional work term stream regardless of success in securing a work position. 

This two-year diploma program is designed to provide a solid foundation of the skills and knowledge required to work in the corporate travel business, leisure, or cruise travel sectors. In this program, you will understand the tourism industry as a business with an emphasis on developing a service-driven attitude and honing business skills in marketing, sales and customer relations.

You will also acquire knowledge in negotiation, risk management, learn industry specific global distribution systems, discover local and international tourism destinations and geography.

In semester two of the program, you can continue your studies in the Tourism Services concentration or switch to the Tourism –Services Management - Global Tourism Business concentration.  Switching is seamless with a common first semester in both programs.

This eight-month certificate program will help you improve your English skills. Your learning will be enhanced by courses in writing, reading, speaking and listening. In this program, you will use technology to help you with your coursework. Upon graduation, you may enter into a diploma program at Seneca or enter the workforce.

New for 2021: Seneca has launched the Flights Experiential Hub at Newnham Campus. This state-of-the-art training centre is the first of its kind among Canadian postsecondary institutions. It includes a B737 cabin simulator, an A320 door simulator, a mock airline interior cabin, and an aircraft evacuation slide, all to provide you with real-life learning experiences. While many of the program's courses remain online, they are balanced with opportunities to study on-campus, using authentic airline safety and emergency equipment in semesters two, three and four.

Field Placement
As part of your program credit hours, you will complete 150 hours of field placement in the fourth semester. You will receive assistance from your professor, but it is your responsibility to confirm a placement upon successful completion of all third semester subjects before accepting a field placement position.

This two-year diploma program prepares you for entry-level roles on the front line of the financial services industry.

You will learn fundamental business principles and practices that will allow you to provide financial advice related to day-to-day banking, credit and mutual fund investments. You will have the opportunity to complete industry-demanded courses that will open career opportunities in the investment and property and casualty insurance industries. In addition to the customer service training that you will receive as part of this program, you will choose further courses in one of four areas (emotional intelligence, business ethics, negotiation strategies, or intercultural behaviour and communication) to enhance your professional skills.
