Hands-on experience
The Social Service Worker program maintains connections with hundreds of organizations – including community-based organizations, group homes, children's aid organizations and youth centres – that welcome our students for their Year 2 practicum placements. You'll complete more than 600 hours of field placement in a social service setting, reinforcing the practical skills you've learned in class.

The two-year program focuses on technical and professional skills required to work in a variety of Health Service settings. You will learn to use specialized medical software, OHIP billing, electronic calendaring and scheduling, and communication software applications.

Medical Simulation or Field Placement
When you have successfully completed the first three terms and have met a prescribed GPA, you have the option of choosing either a Medical Simulation course or Field Placement (two days per week). Both options prepare you for entry-level administrative support positions in a medical office or setting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and evaluate different career paths.

• In this program, you’ll build your skills and knowledge in multiple computing platforms and environments. You’ll learn to apply the latest technologies to solve real-world problems with:
  • iOS and Android application development
  • Java, and Java Frameworks, C#, .NET and .net server development

• After earning your Computer Systems Technology advanced diploma, you can apply to bridge into Year 3 of one of these Sheridan degree programs: Honours Bachelor of Applied Computer Science (Mobile Computing), or Honours Bachelor of Applied Information Sciences (Information Systems Security). 

Co-op Option

• Students in this program may apply to the co-op program during their second academic semester. Enrolment in the Co-op program is limited through an additional co-op application process that takes place at the end of the first year. • Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experience within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.
• Students receive in-class and 1-on-1 career education support to help prepare for the work term. The co-op component is delivered by Sheridan’s Co-operative Education Office, which facilitates over 1,800 Co-op/Internship work terms per year Sheridan-wide.

Develop a mechanical engineering design skillset that's in high demand. In your first year, you’ll build a strong foundation of fundamental engineering knowledge. In addition to basic math and science, you’ll study advanced subjects such as calculus, machine kinematics, fluid power, process controls and industrial practices. Co-op
Students in this program may apply to the co-op program during their first academic semester. Enrolment in the co-op program is limited through an additional co-op application process that takes place in the first semester. Students in the co-op program are eligible to complete a co-op work term during the 4-month term following the second semester. What you'll gain
Through this program, you’ll prepare for further study by gaining the necessary background knowledge in biology, chemistry, mathematics and anatomy and physiology. Some of the college credits you’ll earn are transferable to other programs at Sheridan and may be accepted at other colleges as well.

Sheridan's facilities include a new, state-of-the-art Athletic Therapy Clinic with aquatic rehab, dedicated lab space with brand new equipment and new training facilities. All educators are Certified Athletic Therapists with advanced degrees in the areas of rehabilitation sciences, biomechanics and physiology, as well as extensive experience working in the field.
