After studying general mechanical engineering concepts in your first year, you'll focus on programmable logic controllers and robotics in your final two semesters. Enjoy the opportunity to earn while you learn! All advanced diploma students have the option of gaining more than 1,000 hours of work experience through a co-op work term. Co-op is a competitive program and you’ll need to meet certain academic requirements to participate. Professors in this program also teach in Sheridan’s kinesiology degree and have real-world experience working with clients in many capacities — including clinical exercise rehab, chronic disease prevention and management, injury rehab, high performance, and strength and conditioning. They will closely guide you through problem-based curriculum specifically designed for clinical professionals.

An Environmental Control graduate certificate from Sheridan offers quick entry into this rapidly expanding field for graduates from a traditional science, engineering or technology discipline.

Additional information

• The Environmental Control program builds on existing knowledge to develop the specialized expertise and skills needed by employers in the environmental sector.
• Environmental Control students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible to apply for a four-month, paid co-op placement providing valuable work experience.
• After graduation and the completion of relevant work and course experience, you can apply for Canadian Environmental Practitioner (CEP) certification.
• Environmental Control graduate certificate program classes are held at the Davis Campus in Brampton, Ontario.

This program is ideal for those who know they want to work in health sciences, but aren’t sure which career path is right for them, or are currently underprepared for other health sciences programs. There’s a strong focus on academic advising to support your success, and you’ll be introduced to a range of possible career paths in the health sciences field.

What you'll gain
Through this program, you’ll prepare for further study by gaining the necessary background knowledge in biology, chemistry, mathematics and anatomy and physiology. Some of the college credits you’ll earn are transferable to other programs at Sheridan and may be accepted at other colleges as well.
