The program offers professional preparation for a quality assurance career, including in-depth coverage of material that appears on the examinations for the professional designations of Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) offered by American Society for Quality.

After completing two academic terms, students can apply for a paid co-op work term to gain professional experience while deepening their education. Enrolment is limited and requires a separate application process and requirements. To be eligible for acceptance in co-op, one has to have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and no D grade in the first term. To remain in co-op, similar academic performance must be maintained in the second term as well.

Companies in all areas of business and industry (including automotive, aviation, chemical, computer, electronics, energy, food, mechanical, moulding, plastics, and pharmaceutical) employ quality assurance personnel.

Co-op
Students in this program may apply to the co-op program during their first academic semester. Enrolment in the co-op program is limited through an additional co-op application process that takes place in the first semester. Students in the co-op program are eligible to complete a co-op work term during the 4-month term following the second semester. Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experiences within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.

Students receive in-class and 1-on-1 career education support to help prepare for the work term. The co-op component is delivered by Sheridan’s Co-operative Education Office, which facilitates over 1,800 co-op and internship work terms per year Sheridan-wide.

Sheridan's Electronics Engineering Technician/Technology program graduates are employed in many career path jobs in a variety of industries. Employers know that our Electronics Engineering graduates enter the workforce with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to be productive from their first day on the job.

An industry-relevant curriculum
Sheridan stays current with the latest technology, so you'll work directly with the same equipment and techniques you'll encounter in the electronics engineering industry. You'll gain first-hand experience with power and energy systems, signal processing, computer simulation, digital communications, circuit board design, control systems, microcontrollers and embedded systems.

Advanced work and learning opportunities
Students can graduate after two years with an Electronics Engineering Technician diploma, or continue for an optional third year to pursue a Technology advanced diploma. If you do opt for the third year, you'll have the opportunity to apply for a paid, co-op work placement in electronics engineering that enables you to earn while you learn. In Sheridan's Computer Systems Technology – Software Development and Network Engineering program, you'll gain experience with many platforms and environments. Using cutting-edge computer systems technologies (such as Android, iOS and Unity) and industry standards (such as Java, Oracle, C, C# and .NET), you'll learn to create solutions to real-world problems.

Designed for students with degrees or diplomas in related programs, Advanced Manufacturing Management condenses a range of advanced production management skills into one year of intensive study. Plus, with the co-op portion of the program, you're gaining real-world experience and contacts while earning your certificate.

In the third and fourth years of your electrical engineering courses, you'll have the opportunity to specialize in one of two technical streams — energy or mechatronics.
