Sheridan’s Veterinary Technician program prepares you to join a professional team in a veterinary medical setting

This program is a pathway to a rewarding career working with animals in a medical capacity. You’ll learn from Registered Veterinary Technicians and Veterinarians, and apply your learning with a field placement in a veterinary clinic.

Accredited by the Ontario Association of Veterinary Technicians, you’ll be able to sit for the Veterinary Technician National Exam when you graduate.
A humane approach
We strongly believe in a humane and caring approach to veterinary education, so we replace the use of live animals with manikins for teaching purposes whenever possible. Using manikins, you'll fine-tune your skill dexterity in procedures ranging from bandaging to catheter placement and intubation. You will also apply your learning to live animals while in field placement each semester.

Our Business Administration – Accounting program provides a balance of theoretical studies, hands-on learning and specialized courses.

Learn how accounting supports business
Businesses rely on accountants to monitor their performance, compliance and financial health. Your first year will involve common curriculum shared by all business administration students, providing you with an understanding of how companies work. Topics of study include communications, finance, human resources and marketing — all areas of business you’ll impact as an accountant.

Specialize your skills through electives
Study advanced accounting principles that aren’t covered in our two-year Business Accounting program! In your final year, you can master skills essential for employment in the field’s more demanding positions. Choose from a broad selection of electives, including courses in tax, auditing, budgeting, business analysis and financial statement preparation.

Optional accounting co-op placement
Enjoy the opportunity to earn while you learn! All advanced diploma students have the option of gaining more than 1,000 hours of work experience through a co-op work term. Co-op is a competitive program and you’ll need to meet certain academic requirements to participate. Connections you build during your work term may lead to employment opportunities after you graduate.

Sheridan’s accounting professors are actively involved in the industry, presenting at conferences and contributing to publications of accounting textbooks and articles. The need for skilled welders is growing in Canada. Sheridan's welding programs offer superior training and a pathway into this highly desirable trade. You'll get a thorough, practical education in the most current welding techniques and theories. Upon graduation, you'll be qualified to enter an apprenticeship as a welder, boilermaker, pipefitter, steamfitter, millwright or sheet-metal mechanic.

Canadian Welding Bureau certification:-
Our welding programs provide opportunities for Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) certification. Welding and Fabrication Technician diploma students may challenge structural steel tests in four welding processes to obtain up to 13 licences. In our 1-year Welding Techniques certificate program, students may test in three welding processes in the flat position to obtain up to three licences.

This program is ideal for those who know they want to work in health sciences, but aren’t sure which career path is right for them, or are currently underprepared for other health sciences programs. There’s a strong focus on academic advising to support your success, and you’ll be introduced to a range of possible career paths in the health sciences field.

What you'll gain
Through this program, you’ll prepare for further study by gaining the necessary background knowledge in biology, chemistry, mathematics and anatomy and physiology. Some of the college credits you’ll earn are transferable to other programs at Sheridan and may be accepted at other colleges as well.

Hands-on experience
In the second semester you'll solve a real industry problem, and have the responsibility to diagnose the problem, gather information, analyze it and recommend solutions to the managers and personnel of the organization. You'll also have the chance to apply for a four-month co-op work term at the end of your academic work (see Co-op Option for details). The combination of classroom work and on-the-job training will allow you to explore different careers, gain work experience and apply classroom learning to real industry situations.

Sheridan's Chemical Engineering Technology advanced diploma offers education in both lab and industry areas, but stands out for its emphasis on true chemical engineering. Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experience within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.
