• As a program accredited by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), we concentrate on four core areas of software engineering:
• Programming and software development in Java, C and C#
• Web technologies and web application development
• Database management and administration

Competitive edge

• In this program, you'll gain practical software engineering skills that give you a competitive edge in the job market. You'll study computer hardware (including Computer Architecture and Linux/Unix Operating System) and business practice, management and analysis. There's also a concentration on math that will provide you with a deeper understanding of software engineering principles.

The two-year program focuses on technical and professional skills required to work in a variety of Health Service settings. You will learn to use specialized medical software, OHIP billing, electronic calendaring and scheduling, and communication software applications.

Medical Simulation or Field Placement
When you have successfully completed the first three terms and have met a prescribed GPA, you have the option of choosing either a Medical Simulation course or Field Placement (two days per week). If you enrol in the three-year HR Co-op advanced diploma program, you may have the opportunity to participate in a program-related (paid or unpaid) co-op position.

The Cooperative Education program is only offered at the Hazel McCallion Campus in Mississauga, Ontario.

In this program, you’ll learn from professors and guest speakers who have considerable experience in family therapy, policy development, social work, social justice and other social service fields. You’ll gain a solid skills foundation through a laboratory practicum, and you’ll develop plans for starting and running a service organization.

Hands-on experience
The Social Service Worker program maintains connections with hundreds of organizations – including community-based organizations, group homes, children's aid organizations and youth centres – that welcome our students for their Year 2 practicum placements. You'll complete more than 600 hours of field placement in a social service setting, reinforcing the practical skills you've learned in class.
