Co-op experience
Following eight months of classroom instruction, eligible students will have the opportunity to participate in a four-month cooperative education placement. Note that this is a competitive process and only qualified students are accepted. Working in the marketing field, you’ll apply your in-class learning and gain valuable work experience that may boost your career—and help you land a great job.

Advertising – Account Management
In this one-year graduate certificate program, you’ll learn to plan, develop and create complete digital and traditional advertising campaigns. You’ll graduate with confidence, ready to contribute your skills to a professional advertising agency.

Co-op option: Get advertising work experience
Co-op experience can make all the difference. As an advertising student at Sheridan, you can apply for a four-month co-op work term. This on-the-job experience can be just the career boost you need to land a great job in advertising. Our co-op program is competitive — you’ll need to meet certain requirements to qualify.

In this program, you’ll get the fundamental skills you need to find finance jobs. You’ll learn to process financial records, analyze reports and network in business. You’ll also get hands-on experience as you study investing, financial statement analysis and more. With your well-rounded knowledge, you’ll be prepared to work at a financial institution or in a finance department by graduation.

The 4 cores of software engineering
As a program accredited by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), we concentrate on four core areas of software engineering:

• Programming and software development in Java, C and C#
• Web technologies and web application development
• Database management and administration
• Network administration and security

You'll study computer hardware (including Computer Architecture and Linux/Unix Operating System) and business practice, management and analysis. You'll have a chance to learn from the best in the business with two field placements during the second year of the merchandising program. The placements are a great way to gain hands-on experience in a number of areas in the industry and make some important professional contacts. Your placements will help you better choose the direction of your merchandising career path.

Business Analysis and Process Management
Sheridan's Business Analysis and Process Management graduate certificate program is accredited by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council through its National Accreditation Program, gives students the skills they need to improve operational efficiency, save money, and drive business value. Throughout this program, students will learn to:

• Develop business processes to achieve organizational goals.
• Integrate appropriate technologies for analysis and development of business processes.
• Create sound business arguments, using financial and cost analysis to justify any process change.
• Use SAP enterprise resource planning software (Sheridan is a member of the SAP University Alliances program).

Marketing Management
The Marketing Management program at Sheridan provides students with the digital marketing expertise that employers are looking for. During this course, students will learn how to:

• Apply search engine marketing, social media promotion and marketing analytics principles to optimize your organization's marketing efforts.
• Learn basic marketing graphics skills to create support materials such as brochures, newsletters and web page updates.
• Write marketing and communications plans.

The two-year program focuses on technical and professional skills required to work in a variety of Health Service settings. You will learn to use specialized medical software, OHIP billing, electronic calendaring and scheduling, and communication software applications.

• Medical e-billing and scheduling.
• Medical transcription and techniques.
• Specialized medical software applications.

Medical Simulation or Field Placement
When you have successfully completed the first three terms and have met a prescribed GPA, you have the option of choosing either a Medical Simulation course or Field Placement (two days per week). Both options prepare you for entry-level administrative support positions in a medical office or setting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and evaluate different career paths.

Marketing isn’t just about promotions and ads. Learn how to build a marketing plan through market research, marketing strategy and working in tandem with all areas of a business. Sheridan’s marketing instructors bring passion and industry experience into the classroom while ensuring curriculum is constantly updated to meet current industry demands.

Specialize or diversify your marketing knowledge
In the first two years of your studies, you’ll build a solid foundation in general business fundamentals. Beginning in Year 3, you can choose from a range of electives, allowing you to specialize in one area of marketing or branch out across various fields. You’ll also put your new skills to work during a mandatory internship and optional co-op.

Our small classes and experiential learning approach promote the development of these skills through constant interaction with your professors and peers.

Internship & Co-op
The Honours Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programs all include a one-semester internship where students will fulfill many of the program learning outcomes and become prepared for future employment. After the completion of a minimum of 60 credits, students may also apply to participate in the BBA Co-op program, which allows students to complete three additional work terms to a total of four work terms. Enrolment in the Co-op program is limited through an additional Co-op application process.

Co-op/Internship allows students to take ownership and responsibility for their own growth and development through practice in real-life employment environments. Our work terms are scenarios where students can apply their critical, creative, and reflective thinking in a way that maximizes their workplace experiences and preparedness for full-time employment after graduation.

Sheridan's BBA Co-op program has built-in flexibility for students to select their path and schedule for Co-op work terms, may lead to paid employment during the work term, and further supports students to develop their entrepreneurial thinking skills and capacity for responsible risk-taking in a complex workplace environment.

Students receive in-class and 1-on-1 career education support to help prepare for their Internship or Co-op work terms. The Co-op/Internship component is delivered by Sheridan's Co-operative Education Office, which facilitates over 1,800 Co-op/Internship work terms per year Sheridan-wide. In your first two years, you’ll learn core architecture skills such as CAD software, building and assembly systems, document preparation and envelope detailing. In your final year, you’ll work with real clients in the community, train with cutting-edge software, prepare project plans and more. You’ll even build a portfolio to help you find work after you graduate.

Get paid work experience with optional co-op placements

As an Architectural Technology student, you can participate in the optional paid co-op. The co-op placement will help you gain real-life experience and make contacts in the architecture and construction industries. Previous student placements have included roles at the City of Mississauga and PCL Construction.

In this unique program, you'll gain experience in a variety of writing genres and media platforms — and be ready for a career in today's publishing industry. You'll graduate with a broad skill set that gives you the opportunity to choose a variety of career paths.

This flexible program allows you to focus on your interests and career goals. In addition to core courses in creative writing, publishing and literary studies, your program electives let you tailor your education in these three disciplines. You'll have the opportunity to take courses from Sheridan's arts and business degrees and collaborate with students in other programs.

Relationships with audiences, writers and the publishing community are integral parts of being an author. In this program, you're encouraged to develop these relationships through internships, connecting with literary communities, editing and publishing literary journals, writing reviews and more. You'll have the chance to make an impact in your community of practice — and community at large.
