Sheridan’s Honours Bachelor of Business Administration – Accounting program prepares you for an exciting career in business, accounting or finance.
What you'll learn
In the first two years of your program, you'll gain a solid grounding in the functional areas of a business. Building on this foundation, you'll focus on financial and cost analysis, taxation, assurance, ethical and regulatory compliance, and financial reporting in your third and fourth years.

Build on your foundational architectural education

In your first two years, you’ll learn core architecture skills such as CAD software, building and assembly systems, document preparation and envelope detailing. In your final year, you’ll work with real clients in the community, train with cutting-edge software, prepare project plans and more. You’ll even build a portfolio to help you find work after you graduate.

Get paid work experience with optional co-op placements

As an Architectural Technology student, you can participate in the optional paid co-op. The co-op placement will help you gain real-life experience and make contacts in the architecture and construction industries. Previous student placements have included roles at the City of Mississauga and PCL Construction.

The professors who teach Sheridan's International Business courses are personally experienced in international business. They are continually updating the program so that it accurately reflects current international market conditions, challenges and regulations.

Things you'll do and learn

• Develop a foreign market entry strategy for a specific product or service.
• Research and analyze potential international opportunities.
• Create a customized international business plan to support the global initiative of a real company.
• Learn to navigate cultural differences among trading partners and clients.

Networking and industry connections
In addition to helping you hone your business report writing and presentation skills, your professors will bring in guest speakers who are active in international business, introduce you to networking and industry association events, and teach you how to undertake a search for international employment.

Co-op experience
Eligible students (see About Co-op) can acquire invaluable work experience in the international business field through a work-term cooperative education assignment following completion of the academic portion of the program. This training experience gives you an ideal way to apply what you have learned in class and explore different career paths.

At Sheridan, we believe the best way to learn is by doing. Put your new marketing skills to work through collaborative assignments, hands-on applications, case analyses and industry projects. When you graduate, you’ll have first-hand knowledge of various marketing concepts, including analysis, planning, selling, report writing, graphics, presentations, social media and promotion.

Marketers are the heart of business, working in tandem with many areas of their companies. You’ll learn about those areas during a foundational first year, studying topics such as accounting, finance, human resources and communications. Understanding your company’s strategies and challenges will help you write better marketing plans and recommend actions to keep your organization competitive.

Learn from experienced professors in small classes
Work closely with marketing experts who have decades of industry experience! Our business professors bring real-world perspective to the classroom. They’ll support your learning in classes that are typically capped at 40 students — an ideal number for fostering a dynamic and diverse environment.

Learn the general principles and applications that modern accountants rely on. Expert professors will guide you through foundational concepts in a small classroom environment, supporting their lectures with hands-on learning opportunities. You’ll gain experience using spreadsheets and databases. You’ll also learn to use accounting and tax software programs such as Sage 50, MS Access and Profile.

Get a well-rounded architectural education

Gain the practical skills and fundamental architectural knowledge you need to enter the workplace after graduation. You'll study building code standards, materials, project planning and more. Skills you'll learn include: 2D and 3D Computer-aided Design and Drafting (CADD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), visual problem-solving, preparation of contract documents and specifications and envelope detailing.

Project Management
This program prepares you to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control a project to ensure its success. That's true whether your area of interest is the arts, community or social services, business or government administration. If you're a seasoned professional, this program provides the opportunity to learn new skills to advance your career faster.

• Apply search engine marketing, social media promotion and marketing analytics principles to optimize your organization's marketing efforts.
• Learn basic marketing graphics skills to create support materials such as brochures, newsletters and web page updates.
• Write marketing and communications plans.

International Business Management

Advertising – Account Management
In this graduate certificate program, you’ll learn to plan, develop and create complete digital and traditional advertising campaigns. You’ll graduate with confidence, ready to contribute your skills to a professional advertising agency.

Co-op option: Get advertising work experience
Co-op experience can make all the difference. As an advertising student at Sheridan, you can apply for a four-month co-op work term. This on-the-job experience can be just the career boost you need to land a great job in advertising. Our co-op program is competitive — you’ll need to meet certain requirements to qualify.

Business Analysis and Process Management
Sheridan's Business Analysis and Process Management graduate certificate program is accredited by the Canadian Supply Chain Sector Council through its National Accreditation Program, gives students the skills they need to improve operational efficiency, save money, and drive business value. Throughout this program, students will learn to:

• Develop business processes to achieve organizational goals.
• Integrate appropriate technologies for analysis and development of business processes.
• Create sound business arguments, using financial and cost analysis to justify any process change.
• Use SAP enterprise resource planning software (Sheridan is a member of the SAP University Alliances program).

Marketing Management

The Business Analysis and Process Management graduate certificate is affiliated with the International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA). The program focuses on manufacturing, supply chain, financial services, and health care industries, in both the public and private sectors.

• Industry Project: As part of a small consulting team, you'll tackle a real business problem with a client company.
• Co-op: At the end of the academic portion of the program, you may apply to participate in a work term to gain further hands-on experience

Co-op
Students in this program may apply to the Co-op program during their first academic semester. Enrolment in the Co-op program is limited through an additional Co-op application process that takes place in the first semester. Students in the Co-op program are eligible to complete a Co-op work term during the 4-month term following the second semester. Co-operative Education is a form of work-integrated learning that links classroom learning with paid or unpaid work experiences within a professional environment. Co-op work terms are related specifically to the academic studies of each student. The work terms provide an opportunity to learn by doing. You’ll apply theory to practice, develop a meaningful view of the working world, and cultivate an awareness of yourself as a professional.

Students receive in-class and 1-on-1 career education support to help prepare for the work term. The Co-op component is delivered by Sheridan’s Co-operative Education Office, which facilitates over 1800 Co-op/Internship work terms per year Sheridan-wide.
