The role of the HR manager has grown steadily in importance. Today's HR management professionals contribute on a strategic level, dealing with talent acquisition, total rewards management, training and employee development, employment law, health and safety, labour relations, change management and HR metrics. Co-op experience
You'll take part in one term (three to four months) of co-op placement, which may be paid or unpaid. This opportunity for real-world experience in an HR environment can be an invaluable asset to your career.

At Sheridan, we believe the best way to learn is by doing. Put your new marketing skills to work through collaborative assignments, hands-on applications, case analyses and industry projects. When you graduate, you’ll have first-hand knowledge of various marketing concepts, including analysis, planning, selling, report writing, graphics, presentations, social media and promotion.

Build a foundation of general business knowledge
Marketers are the heart of business, working in tandem with many areas of their companies. You’ll learn about those areas during a foundational first year, studying topics such as accounting, finance, human resources and communications. Understanding your company’s strategies and challenges will help you write better marketing plans and recommend actions to keep your organization competitive.

Marketing Management
The Marketing Management program at Sheridan provides students with the digital marketing expertise that employers are looking for. During this course, students will learn how to:

• Apply search engine marketing, social media promotion and marketing analytics principles to optimize your organization's marketing efforts.
• Learn basic marketing graphics skills to create support materials such as brochures, newsletters and web page updates.
• Write marketing and communications plans.

The two-year program focuses on technical and professional skills required to work in a variety of Health Service settings. You will learn to use specialized medical software, OHIP billing, electronic calendaring and scheduling, and communication software applications.

Medical Simulation or Field Placement
When you have successfully completed the first three terms and have met a prescribed GPA, you have the option of choosing either a Medical Simulation course or Field Placement (two days per week). Both options prepare you for entry-level administrative support positions in a medical office or setting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and evaluate different career paths.

International Business Management
The professors who teach Sheridan's International Business courses are personally experienced in international business. They are continually updating the program so that it accurately reflects current international market conditions, challenges and regulations.

Co-op Experience
Eligible students (see About Co-op) can acquire invaluable work experience in the international business field through a work-term cooperative education assignment following completion of the academic portion of the program. This training experience gives you an ideal way to apply what you have learned in class and explore different career paths.

Advertising – Account Management
In this graduate certificate program, you’ll learn to plan, develop and create complete digital and traditional advertising campaigns. You’ll graduate with confidence, ready to contribute your skills to a professional advertising agency.

Co-op option: Get advertising work experience
Co-op experience can make all the difference. As an advertising student at Sheridan, you can apply for a four-month co-op work term. Teach English abroad with CELTA certification
If you want to teach English abroad, the Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) may be your ticket. CELTA is known around the world, and many employers ask for it by name. Sheridan is an official CELTA Centre, accredited by the University of Cambridge. You’ll get the practical training that meets Cambridge’s high CELTA standards—and be certified when you graduate.

Teach in Canada with TESL Canada or Ontario with TESL Ontario
TESL Ontario sets the standards for ESL teachers in the government-sponsored sector and is perfect for those who want to teach in Ontario.  If you want to teach anywhere in Canada, you’ll need qualification from TESL Canada. When you successfully complete Sheridan’s program, you may apply for both your TESL Canada (Standard 2) certification and your TESL Ontario certification.

Teach English while you study
Get the practical skills to teach English to a range of ESL learners. In this program, you’ll observe experienced instructors, while learning current methodologies and developing your teaching skills and techniques in authentic ESL classrooms. You’ll also have a dedicated practicum course in both terms, where you may work with ESL students at Sheridan, newcomers to Canada through our Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada (LINC) program or students off-campus.

In your first term practicum, you’ll have an instructor for a maximum of 6 students, and in your second term practicum, you’ll have a mentor to guide and support you throughout your teaching.

Build an e-portfolio and gain PBLA (Portfolio-based Language Assessment) instruction
Sheridan's TESOL Plus program gives you the opportunity to create an electronic portfolio containing your assignments, lesson plans and other resources. You will also receive valuable instruction in PBLA, key content for school board and LINC employment which can put you ahead of the game for employment in all sectors. Upon graduation, you can show your e-portfolio, complete with PBLA content, to potential employers to highlight your skills and make yourself more marketable.
