Sheridan’s Advertising and Marketing Communications – Management program prepares you to hit the ground running in this fast-paced industry.

What you'll learn
This program focuses on how the planning and creative processes work together to produce powerful campaigns. Using the latest industry-specific software, you'll learn how to interpret market research data, develop strategies, design creative concepts, calculate media placement and other associated costs, estimate and evaluate campaign outcomes and engage in the media selling and buying process.

This program offers the opportunity to build foundational skills needed in any business administration career, and delivers hands-on training in vital HR skills through case studies, guest speakers, simulated negotiation situations and group work. In just one year, Sheridan’s Marketing Management graduate certificate program gives students the digital marketing skills employers want and need. Throughout this program, students will learn to:

• Apply search engine marketing, social media promotion and marketing analytics principles to optimize your organization's marketing efforts.
• Learn basic marketing graphics skills to create support materials such as brochures, newsletters and web page updates.
• Write marketing and communications plans.

Co-op experience
Following eight months of classroom instruction, eligible students will have the opportunity to participate in a four-month cooperative education placement. Note that this is a competitive process and only qualified students are accepted. Working in the marketing field, you’ll apply your in-class learning and gain valuable work experience that may boost your career—and help you land a great job.

Using your laptop in our Internet-connected classrooms, you'll complete interactive assignments and learn the skills most in demand by today's employers. The two-year program focuses on the higher-level technical and professional skills required if you wish to work in an executive office.

Advertising - Account Management
Sheridan's Advertising – Account Management graduate certificate program, you’ll learn to plan, develop and create complete digital and traditional advertising campaigns. This flexible program allows you to focus on your interests and career goals. In addition to core courses in creative writing, publishing and literary studies, your program electives let you tailor your education in these three disciplines. You'll have the opportunity to take courses from Sheridan's arts and business degrees and collaborate with students in other programs.

Connect with communities
Relationships with audiences, writers and the publishing community are integral parts of being an author. In this program, you're encouraged to develop these relationships through internships, connecting with literary communities, editing and publishing literary journals, writing reviews and more. You'll have the chance to make an impact in your community of practice — and community at large.

The two-year program focuses on technical and professional skills required to work in a variety of Health Service settings. You will learn to use specialized medical software, OHIP billing, electronic calendaring and scheduling, and communication software applications.

Medical Simulation or Field Placement
When you have successfully completed the first three terms and have met a prescribed GPA, you have the option of choosing either a Medical Simulation course or Field Placement (two days per week). Both options prepare you for entry-level administrative support positions in a medical office or setting. This is an excellent opportunity to gain work experience and evaluate different career paths.
