Learn how accounting supports business
Businesses rely on accountants to monitor their performance, compliance and financial health. Your first year will involve common curriculum shared by all business administration students, providing you with an understanding of how companies work. Topics of study include communications, finance, human resources and marketing — all areas of business you’ll impact as an accountant.

Specialize your skills through electives
Study advanced accounting principles that aren’t covered in our two-year Business Accounting program! In your final year, you can master skills essential for employment in the field’s more demanding positions. Choose from a broad selection of electives, including courses in tax, auditing, budgeting, business analysis and financial statement preparation.

Optional accounting co-op placement
Enjoy the opportunity to earn while you learn! All advanced diploma students have the option of gaining more than 1,000 hours of work experience through a co-op work term. Co-op is a competitive program and you’ll need to meet certain academic requirements to participate. Connections you build during your work term may lead to employment opportunities after you graduate.

Learn from industry experts
Sheridan’s accounting professors are actively involved in the industry, presenting at conferences and contributing to publications of accounting textbooks and articles. Additional information
The program gives you a comprehensive foundation in project management and organizational management that applies to not-for-profit, for-profit and government organizations of all sizes. The activities, cases and projects are focused on small–medium sized projects, and are uniquely non-technical in their objectives and learning outcomes.

You have the option to work for one work term at the end of the program’s eight-month academic portion to gain further valuable real-world experience that is highly regarded by employers. Using your laptop in our Internet-connected classrooms, you'll complete interactive assignments and learn the skills most in demand by today's employers. The two-year program focuses on the higher-level technical and professional skills required if you wish to work in an executive office.

Co-op experience
Following eight months of classroom instruction, eligible students will have the opportunity to participate in a four-month cooperative education placement. Note that this is a competitive process and only qualified students are accepted. Working in the marketing field, you’ll apply your in-class learning and gain valuable work experience that may boost your career—and help you land a great job.

A Computer Systems Technician – Software Engineering diploma is exceptionally marketable in our rapidly changing computer-driven world.
The 4 cores of software engineering
As a program accredited by the Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS), we concentrate on four core areas of software engineering:

• Programming and software development in Java, C and C#
• Web technologies and web application development

Competitive edge
In this program, you'll gain practical software engineering skills that give you a competitive edge in the job market.
