Take the design process from beginning to end
Sheridan's Industrial Design program gives you the tools to create smart, innovative and meaningful design. You'll go through the entire design process — from research to finished product. You'll look at design problems and imagine, develop and test solutions for specific audiences. Working with our other studios, you'll connect design with creation, broadening your knowledge.

State-of-the-art facilities

Critical training
In this program, you’ll learn from professors and guest speakers who have considerable experience in family therapy, policy development, social work, social justice and other social service fields. You’ll gain a solid skills foundation through a laboratory practicum, and you’ll develop plans for starting and running a service organization.

In our Craft and Design – Ceramics program, you'll develop new skills and ideas in pottery, sculpture and design to begin an exciting career.

Hands-on learning
We offer hands-on learning in one of Canada's leading Ceramics studios. Inspiring, dedicated faculty help you explore a full range of processes and techniques with an awareness of contemporary ideas and community. You'll learn innovative approaches to clay, such as wheelthrowing, handbuilding, moldmaking, slipcasting, clay/glaze formulation and firing salt/soda, wood, pit, gas and electric kilns.

In Ceramics, you'll gain real-world experience and engage with the local and international community through professional events, workshops, competitions and exhibitions in galleries and museums. You'll build leadership skills through volunteering, fundraising and organizing initiatives. You'll participate in an internship and connect with renowned visiting artists and our large alumni network.

In this program, you’ll build your skills and knowledge in multiple computing platforms and environments. You’ll learn to apply the latest technologies to solve real-world problems with:

Can corporate communications be considered an art form? That's how Sheridan approaches the subject. It's a unique approach among business communications programs, and it produces student work that stands out. The courses in this program feature hands-on, project-based assignments. • Write persuasive and informative copy for internal and external publications, news releases, conference presentations, speeches and public service announcements.

Fast-track to employment
It takes less than a year to earn a Public Relations – Corporate Communications graduate certificate from Sheridan. You'll build a portfolio, get real-world experience and master both practical and theoretical aspects of business communications. You'll spend the last five weeks of the program in an onsite job placement, working with professionals.

Once you’ve completed your in-class studies, you’ll have a 4–6 week internship. You’ll work with your professors to secure a placement in a media or news organization that suits your career goals. Sheridan’s newly renovated newsroom is a fully interactive space. It merges all media platforms (radio, television, web) into one centre. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art equipment and studio space, and will use a variety of camera formats to produce news stories, documentaries and other digital content.

You may be able to earn a high-paying co-op placement, and many of our students are hired by their co-op employers after graduation. You'll need to fill out a separate co-op application and enrolment is limited.
