Our Textiles Studio provides a range of traditional and contemporary techniques and methods. Learning from design professionals in our state-of-the-art facilities, you'll get hands-on experience in 2D and 3D fibre-specific approaches, including printing, weaving, dyeing, off-loom techniques, digital design and sewing. We foster and encourage experimentation and exploration of the fibre medium.

Commitment to sustainable practices
With a growing awareness of sustainable industry practices, the Textiles Studio is committed to doing our part. We purchase our dyes from reputable suppliers and grow and harvest our own natural dyes in our Dye Garden, right here on campus. You'll also help to care for our Dye Garden, making a positive environmental impact and embracing greener textile practices.

Get a foundation in all Craft and Design studios
Our program provides a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to Craft and Design. You'll major in your studio of choice while building skills in the four other disciplines. You'll work with students and faculty from across all five studios on interdisciplinary projects that bring together a range of expertise and experiences to explore the potential of contemporary art, craft and design.

This program will equip you with the skills you need to support students with a range of special needs. In the Interactive Media Management program, you'll learn to create, manage and develop web and mobile content, leveraging a curriculum in usability, interactivity, front-end coding, social media, user experience (UX) and emerging mobile technologies in an interdisciplinary, inter-professional collaborative learning environment.

Sheridan’s Early Childhood Education – Intensive program helps you provide young children with the best possible education and care

This program was created specifically for students who have already completed university or college programs in a related field and want to fast-track their early childhood education career. The ECE – Intensive program is of particular interest to those returning to a second career educating children or for those who have international credentials not currently recognized as equivalent to ECE.

Once you’ve completed your in-class studies, you’ll have a 4–6 week internship. You’ll work with your professors to secure a placement in a media or news organization that suits your career goals. Work with the latest journalism tools and technology
Sheridan’s newly renovated newsroom is a fully interactive space. It merges all media platforms (radio, television, web) into one centre. You’ll have access to state-of-the-art equipment and studio space, and will use a variety of camera formats to produce news stories, documentaries and other digital content.

Stand out from the crowd by specializing in cloud computing, data analytics, game engineering or network engineering. You’ll be introduced to each of these growing fields of computer science in your first year of studies, then take eight courses in the area of your choice. Each field requires specific skills not taught in traditional diploma and degree programs.

Not a computer expert? No problem! You'll begin with the basics in your first year, learning about computer programming, networks, mathematics, scripting and database modelling. Internship, co-op and applied research opportunities
At Sheridan, we believe the best way to learn is through hands-on experience. Between your third and fourth year of studies, you can work for our industry partners through a four-month internship or a paid co-op placement that can last up to 16 months.
