Laurentian University offers a four-year Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree at St. Lawrence College in Kingston. The program combines the theoretical underpinnings of university with the practical strengths of college. The relationship is all about providing access to education in a seam­less manner, providing fair credit for prior academic and experiential learning.

There are two primary streams of access to the BBA degree program: an entry-level, four-year degree and an accelerated level designed for college diploma graduates where credit is given for prior learning and experience. The core subjects in the degree program cover the fundamentals of economics, account­ing, financial information systems, financial management, management decision making, organizational behaviour, human resources, strategic planning, and marketing. Commu­nication, analytical and computer skills are emphasized. Elective courses permit students to tailor the BBA to suit their own personal objectives.

In addition to securing full-time employment upon completion of the program, students may apply to graduate and professional programs. Recent graduates have gone on to Master's programs in areas including Business, Economics, and Finance, and to professional programs including Law (LLB), Education (BEd) and Accounting (CPA).

The Canadian College of Health Information Management sets the accreditation standards for educational institutions offering health information programs in Canada.

Accreditation demonstrates to the public that a program is aligned to industry standards, as identified through the College’s needs assessment and consultation with industry. The purpose of accrediting programs is to ensure continuous quality improvement of the educational content to support the evolving health information industry.

This is a unique program that is unlike traditional food and culinary programs. Taught by a multidisciplinary faculty team, it affords the learner the opportunity to gain a fundamental understanding of all segments of the supply chain from farm to table. Graduates of this program will have opportunities that span the entire food industry from food services businesses to multinational food conglomerates.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
This program offers courses that include hands-on training to permit learners to understand and experience food preparation and can relate to the importance of sanitation, and quality assurance. The program also offers the opportunities to experience research and innovation related to processes for new food products. Case studies are an integral part of the program that will look at unique safety regulations associated with genetic modification or bio-engineering of food.

Learners will use their gained knowledge in food chemistry, food safety and security, the effects of food on population health to plan portion-controlled menus. In order to achieve this the learner applies the principles and regulations associated with food procurement, preparation maintain safety and quality standards.

Successful Project management controls every aspect of the project from initial concept through design, actual task completion and implementation. Resource allocation, time and cost control are essential elements to be managed to prevent overruns.

This one-year Ontario College Graduate Certificate Program prepares graduates for this rewarding managerial career in the field of Project Management. Project Management is a highly sought discipline that involves the application of knowledge, skills and techniques to execute projects effectively and efficiently. Project managers are in high demand across all industries.

Students will develop a critical understanding of the ten knowledge areas according to "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK® Guide). Students will acquire the creative, practical, and advanced expertise that contributes to the effective management of the critical elements required to ensure overall project success. This course is interactive and takes a hands-on approach to learning. 

Develop knowledge and practical skill in areas of carpentry, including blueprint reading, residential and commercial construction, framing, finishing, stair manufacture, surveying, fine woodworking, commercial building practices, and more. Spend 1/3 of each week in a hands on carpentry lab setting.

The General Arts & Science (Certificate) program offers a foundational year for students preparing for future study in a wide range of fields. For students in the Social Sciences stream, core courses in communications, computers, and personal development are enhanced by courses in Psychology, Sociology, Interper­sonal Skills, Addictions, Stress Management, and Statistics. Graduates of the Social Sci­ences stream are prepared for future study in Community Services programs such as Social Service Worker, Behavioural Science Technol­ogy, and Child and Youth Care. Students wishing to pursue Behavioural Science Technology may require additional courses and should contact the General Arts & Science program coordinator.

For students moving on to other St. Lawrence College programs after completing this one-year program, some of the courses completed as part of this program may transfer. For more information, please consult the appropriate program coordinator of your targeted program.

The General Arts & Science (Certificate) program offers a foundational year for students preparing for the workforce or for future study. Students in the General Studies stream meet with the program coordinator to customize their program according to their needs and interests. Core courses include communication, computers, applied or social science, personal development, and general education. Complementing these are varied electives such as Film, Addictions, and Fitness. Students can also focus on essential competencies in communications, science and math.

This program will provide you with the opportunity to excel in the vibrant, rewarding and highly mobile tourism industry. The skills you acquire in this program reflect employer needs and will help ensure that you are ready for the work environment. Art and cultural tourism, hospitality and tourism law, sport tourism, special events planning and management, eco and adventure tourism, and historical tourism are but a few of the many subject areas that you will explore.
