At King’s, the biology program guides you to a deeper understanding of the complexity of life, in all its forms, so that you will become a better steward of creation.

Through laboratory experience and hands-on research in the field, students in the biology program study wild and wonderful creatures in their natural habitats, and gain insight into the mechanisms of human health and genetics. Biology students at King’s conduct research in the Rocky Mountains, analyze DNA in our biochemistry lab, and study plant life in our campus greenhouse. From human anatomy to molecular biology, King’s biology program digs deep into the inner workings of life in God’s creation.

King's General Business program is a professional program designed to expose students to a wide breadth of business principles and practices. Students graduate prepared to tackle real-world business challenges and with a wide variety of skills employers are looking for.

Out of the five streams available to students in King's business program, the General Business stream provides the most flexibility. Students are able to choose from any of King's business courses and incorporate more courses from other disciplines. This makes it an excellent choice for students unsure of which direction they plan on proceeding in after graduation. Course selection varies widely depending on a student’s area of interest but may include a global learning experience at one of our partner business schools in Asia, Europe, or Africa.

Non-profits and voluntary organizations employ 12 percent of Canada’s workforce and contribute $75.9 billion to the nation’s economy. These numbers continue to grow as business approaches are being used to talk about social issues like poverty or the environment. This means there is an increasing demand for business graduates in this sector. Students who choose this stream could get jobs as government policy analysts or sustainability specialists.

The Sociology program at King's starts with one basic assumption: that human beings are social beings created in love and to love.

Make a difference in the world by studying a variety of disciplines. The Social Science program will expose students to topics on human health, non-discriminatory economic systems, equitable public policy, various social structures, international relationships, human psychology, and more.

This flexible concentration is excellent preparation for careers in the human services sector, work for social justice agencies, and more. Many students are interested in more than one area of study and find it difficult to choose just one. The Social Science major allows students to adjust their program to areas that interest them most, drawn from economics, political science, sociology, psychology, geography, education, and history.

King's flexible Interdisciplinary Science (I.Sci) program helps prepare students for science related careers by exploring disciplines such as biology, computing science, psychology, kinesiology, mathematics, and more at a broad level. In addition to equipping students to tackle challenges and discoveries in modern science, the program provides excellent preparation for those looking to continue on to professional school, teach science at a grade school level, or enter the workforce directly after graduation.

Hands-on learning experiences and a focus on collaborations between disciplines in the natural sciences allow students to study chemical biology, computational chemistry, and more, while also providing students with connections between science and fields such as public policy, business, theology, and others.

• Specialize in any two concentrations from biology, kinesiology, chemistry, computing science, mathematics, physics, and psychology. These disciplines may also be used as teachable majors and minors for students looking to pursue an Education degree after graduation.

History is a fantastic program for those who want to understand the depth and complexity of life. It provides students with a deeper understanding of modern day conflicts, ideas, and assumptions about the world. Through reading, research, and critical writing, students develop and refine their ability to think critically, creatively, and imaginatively. Graduates of the history program become more sensitive to the nature of cultural formation and are able to apply their understanding of the past to work and life.

• Carry out independent research using primary sources under the direct supervision of a faculty member.
• Specialize in thematic areas such as the Atlantic World, war and peace, environmental history, and the history of Christianity.

King's Music program guides you to a richer understanding of the role music plays in a well-lived life and engages in the beauty, drama, intellectual rigour, and healing power of western classical music. King's Environmental Studies (ENVS) B.A. and B.Sc. programs prepare students to address sustainability issues with a broad knowledge of its ecological, social, and economic dimensions. In addition to course work, internships and field trips provide practical, hands-on skills and experiences. The program introduces students to principles and practices for building environmentally sustainable societies and lifestyles by examining the causes of environmental harm, and exploring theories, policies, techniques, and management approaches that support the restoration and flourishing of our planet. 

Through King’s ENVS programs, students develop skills such as mapping, geographical information systems (GIS), environmental impact assessment, policy analysis, statistical analysis, and strong oral and written communication. Both Environmental Studies programs are fully accredited by Eco Canada and equip graduates for future employment in this fast growing and dynamic sector.

Bachelor of Science: for students interested in the natural sciences and the workings of the natural world as explored in the lab, out in the field, and by using computers. These interests can be pursued through sub concentrations in Biology, Chemistry, and Computing Science.
