OBJECTIVES & OUTCOMES
The Supply Chain Management Diploma program prepares graduates to work as at the management level in the supply chain field, providing a comprehensive foundation in the theory and practices of supply chain management based on the best practices and industry standards in Canada.

he 4-Year BA allows flexibility of choice for students who want to sample a wide variety of courses; to develop a stronger understanding of language, literature, and culture; and to strengthen their reading and writing skills and their powers of critical thinking. This degree provides knowledge and practical skills that are assets in everyday life and in almost any career. Critical readers and writers are required in professions such as law, public service, business, medicine and politics. More directly, the study of English can lead to careers in teaching or careers that involve writing, such as news reporting, publishing, business advertising, and public relations.

Today’s global marketplace is increasingly complicated by converging markets and fraught with rapid technological change. To gain superior competitive advantage, market-driven organizations must define their distinctive capabilities, focus on creating customer value, and integrate their marketing strategy across the overall business operation. PACE offers the Marketing Management Diploma Program in a full-time, two-year format which includes a 4-week internship.

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree offered through the Department of Business and Administration is designed for students who wish to pursue a career in business, in the private, public or non-profit sectors. We nurture socially conscious business leaders and entrepreneurs that are capable of adapting to the ever-changing needs of the modern business world.

The Business and Administration program develops critical thinking, analytic and decision-making abilities, oral and written communication skills, and the self-confidence to effectively apply these skills. Some courses in the program are taught using the case method, a simulation of real business situations from the perspective of the actual decision-maker. Computer-based simulations, experiential exercises, guest speakers, and field trips are also used to connect course material to the business world.

The three-year BBA is an excellent complement to a major or degree in another field and is intended to be readily accessible as a part of a double degree program upon completion of additional coursework.

This program gives you an opportunity to study the rich heritage of the Mennonites and their contribution to society. Mennonite Studies is an interdisciplinary program that combines studies in history, religion, culture, and literature as they relate to Mennonites.

A major in Mennonite Studies focuses on the Mennonites' culture of nonviolence, history of migration, and struggle to define themselves as an ethno-religious group.

Applied computer science is the study of how and where computers work. It includes designing hardware and software, building database and operating systems, and programming for the internet. UWinnipeg’s program covers each of these areas, giving you an understanding of how they connect to create vast networks. In the four-year major, you’ll gain practical experience and build teamwork skills as you take on a team-based software project for a local IT company.

Applied Computer Science - Health Informatics Stream
The Health Informatics(HI) stream provides students with more focused courses in Health information needs, infrastructure, standards, and jurisdiction. This stream has been designed in close cooperation with Manitoba e-Health. The HI stream includes upper year courses to address specific needs of the Health industry, e.g., Health Care information requirements and standards, regulatory environment, clinical terminologies, standards and professional practice. The HI stream complements offerings of the ACS department, and gives students flexibility of combining all three areas of IT, Business, and Health.

Urban and Inner-City Studies is an interdisciplinary Major concerned with the examination of the city as a dynamic environment. Our unique location serves as a gateway for north end residents to enter the University of Winnipeg and as a place for the larger UWinnipeg student body to connect to and learn from the north end community. The program combines a traditional urban studies focus with courses that examine various aspects of the inner city, such as the urban Aboriginal experience, the immigrant and refugee experience, and the role of women. In Canada, cities continue to be centres of great challenge: from managing suburban growth to promoting inner-city revitalization; from responding to the opportunities and concerns created by rapidly changing demographics, to those created by globalization and socio-economic change. Cities are also home to increased concentrations of poverty and social and political exclusion. The Urban and Inner-City Studies program provides an opportunity to examine the political, economic, social and spatial context of these and many other important aspects of urban change from an interdisciplinary perspective.

This degree focuses on the prevention and care of muscle, bone and joint injuries as they occur in sport, recreation, fitness and in the workplace. Students will learn to assess the cause and severity of an injury and provide the most effective rehabilitation and return to sport/recreation/work protocol.

Mathematics is often described as the "queen of the sciences".  It is essential to many fields, including engineering, finance, medicine, economics and the natural sciences.  Math is everywhere!  It is used to secure your data when you enter it online, in fraud detection, to understand medical scans, in weather prediction, for modeling wildfires and for creating efficient networks for security systems or air traffic.  Studying mathematics trains you to think critically and develops strong problem-solving skills.  

One branch of mathematics, called cryptography, helps to keep our information safe.  When you use your credit card online, mathematics is used to encrypt this information so that a third party cannot read it.  Mathematicians are also essential to national security, where their high-level problem-solving skills are used for encryption and decryption for intelligence gathering and computer security. Another branch of mathematics, called graph theory, is used to design and analyze networks, such as security, transportation or social networks.
