If you enjoy math or have strong math skills, you may be particularly well suited to the study of economics. This specialization involves the analysis and interpretation of data on a regional, national and international level.

The risks of owning a small business are significant and the hours are generally quite long, but there is no better feeling than that which comes from launching a successful new business venture and being respected by one’s fellow citizens for making a contribution to the local community. Opportunities for new venture creation in Canada are very good due to a vibrant economy, a stable political environment, and close proximity to the US market. For creative people with a strong work ethic and a lower aversion to risk, a career as an entrepreneur may be the right choice.

Entrepreneurship Majors will learn to research new business ideas, prepare formal business plans, secure initial financing, and manage small businesses on an on-going basis. After graduation, it is hoped that many students will start-up their own ventures after acquiring some valuable industry experience and saving needed equity capital. A few will also return home to work in the family firm with the hope of eventually taking over.

The Bachelor of Computing Science degree consists of two years of concentrated computing studies preceded by two years of general study. It is designed for those wishing to enter a in Computing Science, or for those wishing to pursue graduate studies. The program will mainly concentrate on small to medium business environments.

The degree will:
Enable students in academic streams to obtain a computing science degree.
Allow students with a 2 or 3 year Computing Science Diploma to continue their education and obtain a Degree in Computing Science.
Permit students in the B.Sc. and B.A. degrees more course options, including obtaining a Minor in Computing Science.
Allow past students the ability to upgrade skills to maintain or enhance employability.
Allow employees required to upgrade their skills, but not necessarily interested in completing the degree, to take needed courses.

Program Highlights
Explore a career in the technology industry—software and hardware design, system architecture, operating system structure, and modeling and simulation. The BCS degree consists of two years of general study followed by two years of concentrated computing studies. Double degree option with Business Administration available.

Build a strong foundation in all aspects of biology with maximum flexibility. Students can choose courses to match their interests giving them the ability to tailor their education. The program involves extensive field and laboratory experiences.

Become a certified power engineer in two years and perform an essential role in society.

Power engineers are responsible for keeping critical systems running, from lights and heating to compressors and refrigeration. If you like problem solving and understanding how things work, this could be career for you.

You will learn the details of power engineering, maintenance and operation in order to work in industrial and commercial workplaces, including oil and gas, mining, pulp and paper, food processing, agriculture, hospitals, cities, power plants, manufacturing and more.

What you learn in the classroom we reinforce in the shop through practical exercises and scenarios. You not only will learn to operate and maintain pumps, compressors, generators and pressure vessels, you will learn to prepare, test and inspect equipment that is found in large facilities, buildings, industrial power plants, processing plants and thermal electric generating stations.

Our program follows the Standardized Power Engineers Examination Committee (SOPECC) material you will need to know in order to write the Technical Standards and Technical Safety BC exams - the same ones you will need to pass to receive your 4th and 3rd class power engineering certification.

Your first year covers everything you need to know to take the 4th class power engineer exams. It is the same material covered in our one-year certificate program, and if you already have 4th class certification from a provincial safety authority you will receive a credit for the first year and enter the second year of the program.

This program explores the fields of mathematics and economics. The program equips students with the knowledge and an appreciation of ways in which mathematics and economics interactive to describe human behavior and our economy.

Acquire a foundation in tourism studies including tourism experience marketing, environmental issues, community and cultural issues, applied research methods, and product development and innovation. Explore tourism experience management topics such as understanding and influencing tourist behaviour, business strategy, small business management, information technology, and managing service operations in a global setting. Gain valuable field experience with a two-semester consulting assignment in tourism-related organization.

Provides students with an extensive knowledge of humanity's recorded past. The study of history offers the student the opportunity to develop mental skills and teaches the student how to organize and classify extensive data.

Careers
History can be directly applied to career such as history and social studies teachers, college and university professors, researchers, museum curators and archivists. It can also prepare students for careers in law, journalism, library work, publishing, government, business, and politics.

Expand your career options as a respiratory therapist. Graduate with both a three-year Respiratory Therapy diploma and a BHS degree within a four-year period in the dual diploma/degree stream. Year one is the same for both the RT diploma and dual credential.

Shift into leadership. Our Master of Nursing program offers you the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to contribute to the evolution of health policy. Through critical and creative approaches, you will be equipped to influence and support innovative change.

Our flexible, accessible graduate program offers a variety pathways to admission. You can choose core course options in Leadership and Managing Change in Health Care and Indigenous Health Leadership. Graduates will be equipped to meet the demand for advanced nursing roles within complex and dynamic health-care systems within BC, across Canada and abroad.
