Build your future career by uncovering the ancient past, studying in one of the most robust archaeology programs in Canada. Your studies will focus on the history of human beings, examining artifacts, human and animal bones, architecture, and plants. You’ll learn the field methods and lab techniques used to study these materials, as well as theories archaeologists use to understand the ancient cultures and past civilizations of the Americas, Europe and the pre-Classical and Classical Mediterranean world.

The natural world is intrinsic to human life, but people’s experience with the environment varies widely and this impacts their values and how they learn to interact with the natural world. IESS at Trent brings together the principles of both Indigenous Knowledge and Western science to explore complex topics such as climate change, community sustainability, and Indigenous health and environment through a cross-cultural, transdisciplinary approach. This degree also offers an additional layer of exploration: co-op work terms. In the Indigenous Environmental Studies/Science Co-op stream, you will participate in three paid placements that will have you engaging in real-world leading environmental workplaces to help you chart the course of your career and consciousness of the natural world. You’ll learn to generate solutions to complex local, regional, national, and international issues facing Indigenous and all peoples and communities around the world.

Plants, animals, and humans all require fresh water to survive, and many living species make water ecosystems their home. With less than 2% of the Earth’s water supply being freshwater, efforts to conserve our most precious resource have become critical to survival. As a student in this program, you’ll complete a series of practical and theoretical courses drawn from four primary subjects (biology, chemistry, geography, and environmental science), providing a foundation for examining of the science of water and the aquatic environment. Psychology is the study of human behaviour, the brain, and the mind. This program is perfect for students who wish to develop a better understanding of how and why people act, think, and feel the way they do. You’ll study the principles of psychology and a variety of specialized subjects ranging from personality, child development, and abnormal psychology in your first two years, to advanced subjects such as gender, emotions, and the psychology of evil in the latter half of your degree.

Psychological Development (Specialization):-
Unravel the mystery of the mind and how the human brain develops from day one. Choose to focus your studies on children and youth or set your sights on adults and aging. Courses
The Specialization in Psychological Development is open to students in the single- and joint major Honours degree programs and is intended for students interested in pursuing a career in developmental psychology and associated fields (e.g., graduate work with a specialization in developmental psychology, health care, social work, recreation or developmental services, child protection). This specialization provides students with course options designed for an in-depth examination of theoretical, empirical, methodological, and practical approaches to development related topics. Students who have fulfilled the requirements for an Honours degree in Psychology may graduate with a Specialization in Psychological Development
