The BSc Psychology program focuses on how the brain functions and how we perceive, learn, and forget things. You’ll gain an understanding of areas like perception and motivation, behavior, and cognitive development, with emphasis on the physical, biological, and mathematical sciences. This program is designed to provide a broad view of science psychology and allows for customization and flexibility with courses and program direction.

Why take the BSc General degree?

• The Bachelor of Science General degree offers a wide variety of majors and minors, allowing you to create a diversified degree based on your interests. Majors must be in Science, but minors can also be from courses offered by Arts; Business; or Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences. You can also take a double major in Science.

This program examines how the animal agriculture (livestock and poultry) and food industries interface, through an understanding of animal and human disease, animal nutrition, microbiology, physiology, behaviour and production. You’ll work closely with agricultural animals and have many opportunities for industry interaction.

Economics studies how a society manages, produces, and distributes its wealth. By studying economics, you will develop analytical skills to help you evaluate the costs and benefits associated with any action. You will be exposed to a blend of theory and methodology courses that will help you learn the analytical tools necessary to evaluate and solve complex problems. You will learn from a faculty that is dedicated to teaching and has one of the strongest research records in the country.

This major can also be taken as part of a BA Honors degree.

The Electrical Engineering program at the University of Alberta prepares you for this rapidly evolving field by giving you a sound foundation of knowledge which you will continue to build on throughout your degree. You will gain hands-on experience working on electrical devices and systems that transmit, distribute, store, control and use electromagnetic energy or electrically coded information.

By studying English, you will explore the richness of literature and language to help understand, interpret, and appreciate what novels, songs, poems, memoirs, images, films, and new media tell us about our contemporary culture and the social and creative worlds of our past. The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta offers a broad-based program that prepares graduates for immediate employment in a wide variety of industries ranging from transportation to medicine. You will gain a thorough understanding of mechanical engineering by taking courses in five major areas: solid mechanics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and design. Co-op option
This degree can be taken as a Co-op (co-operative education) program. Through the Co-op program, you will have the opportunity to complete paid, supervised work terms throughout your degree. Most co-op programs include five work terms lasting four months each, in addition to the usual eight terms (four years) of full-time study. Therefore, co-op programs require five years to complete.

Why study Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology? (Honors)
This program focuses on the interactions of organisms with their environment, the diversity of organisms, adaptations, and the mechanisms underlying evolutionary change. You’ll gain foundational knowledge in plant, animal and microbial ecology and evolution, studying at the level of individuals, populations, communities and ecosystems, and at a variety of spatial and temporal scales.

This program can be taken as part of a BSc Honors or BSc Specialization degree.
