A key component is organizational behaviour, which examines things like leadership, motivation, employee attitudes and productivity.

Labour relations is the study of how employers and employees work together to create a fair workplace.

Human resource and labour relations professionals provide an essential link between employees and management, helping address work-related concerns, developing policies and protecting the rights of both parties. Our graduates lead change while fostering a positive attitude towards organizational objectives.

Public health is focused on prevention rather than the treatment of disease. It examines the overall health of a population with the aim of developing strategies to promote and protect health.

Through course work and hands-on experience, the public health major at uLethbridge will provide you with the skills and tools needed to prevent disease/injury and to promote, and protect the health and well-being of Canadians and populations across the globe.

Finance is the study of financial decision making in investment, portfolio management and corporate finance as well as managing risk, financial innovations in a dynamic business environment.

As a student in finance, you'll study areas such as corporate and personal finance, investments, global finance, financial technology (FinTech), Financial Institutions and Markets, and Derivatives. You will develop your skills using excel, statistical, trading and portfolio management software and draw from fields such as economics, accounting, and social responsibility as you prepare for career opportunities in the areas of banking, investments, international finance, trading, risk management and more.

The finance diploma will also include opportunities for students to get practical, experiential training through in-class simulations and live portfolio management like through the Student Management Investment Fund, and the option to add paid work terms through co-operative education. 

Marketing, a combination of art and science, is the core of any business. It helps identify consumer needs; guides the development of new products, services or communications strategies, ensuring products and services are available where and when consumers want them; determines prices; and has the ability to adjust all of these for domestic and international markets. Almost one-third of North Americans are employed in marketing or marketing-related positions.

Marketers themselves are the crucial link between an organization, their suppliers and their end-users, building relationships that benefit all parties. Marketers must have a strong understanding of the customer, whether an individual or an organization so they can effectively advise on all aspects of marketing.

If you are strategic, creative, practical, enjoy both people and numbers, show strong analytical abilities and have excellent communications skills (including listening), marketing may interest you. While different types of marketing jobs require different skill sets, some of the main skills a marketer needs are to communicate effectively, work independently, be self-motivated and show initiative.

The Post-Bachelor Combined Certificates in Accounting allow you to take both the Post-Bachelor Certificate in Accounting Fundamentals and the Post-Bachelor Certificate in Advanced Accounting in one program. With the Post-Bachelor Combined Certificates in Accounting, you’ll build on your existing degree, no matter the discipline, and progress to advanced level coursework that can advance your career or prepare you for entry into the CPA Professional Education Program.

The 16-course combined certificates take two years to complete on a full-time basis and provide eligibility for co-operative education.

Accountants are central to the operations and strategies of all types of organizations. They require integrity and the ability to think critically, communicate, and interact with others effectively. Accounting involves measuring, analyzing, and reporting on factors that affect organizational performance, resources, and risk. Accounting information is the foundation of organizational short and long-term success.

We are training you to be accountants from “day one” - not bookkeepers. In addition to the required technical skills, we help you learn to address a broad range of business problems. Classes are small, allowing for one-on-one interaction with professors, who have professional accounting backgrounds, PhDs in accounting, or both. This allows you to acquire and practice the skills needed for success, including writing, presenting, using professional tools, and case analysis.
