Civil engineers plan, design, supervise construction, manage, and maintain facilities that are familiar to most people. They are involved with infrastructure and environmental projects such as bridges, dams, highways, water and waste-water treatment plants, airports, and flood control systems. Civil engineers increasingly use new technologies such as Geographical Information/Positioning Systems, advanced materials, remote sensing and monitoring in their projects.

Courses include engineering materials, fluid mechanics, structural design, infrastructure engineering and construction management, finite element method, application of geographic information systems, economics, transportation planning, environmental analysis and design, hydrology, and technology and society.

The Bachelor of Nursing is offered in a community that is characterized by a mosaic of cultural groups. The curriculum gives students a solid base in theory. Clinical practice allows students to apply their skills and techniques in actual care-giving environments so that our graduates view people in their entirety when providing a service essential to community health and welfare.

Students admitted to the Master of Science in Management degree program will pursue a research-focused degree in one of the departments of Marketing, Finance, Actuarial Mathematics, Business Administration or Supply Chain Management. The M.Sc. program in Management is designed to produce graduates who have an academically more in-depth, rigorous training in their chosen management field than is the case for either B.Comm (Hons.) graduates or MBA graduates. In addition, the program seeks to develop strong research skills to meet the needs of employers as well as to more effectively prepare M.Sc. students for entrance into Ph.D. programs at the University of Manitoba.

The Asper MBA program design will arm you with the skills, knowledge and experience you need to excel in today’s business world. We offer online preparatory courses, business fundamentals and strategy, and foundations for leadership development using experiential learning methods and critical and creative thinking.

Geophysicists use the principles of physics and mathematics to study the Earth’s surface, internal structure and composition, atmosphere and magnetosphere. The many overlapping fields in Geophysics include: Earthquake Seismology, Exploration Seismology, Electromagnetic Geophysics, Gravity and Magnetic Geophysics, Geodesy, Geomagnetism as well as Geodynamics and High-Pressure Geophysics.

The Diploma in Art is essentially technical in nature. The interdisciplinary studio-based learning experience gives students a hands-on training in an art studio setting and introduces them to possible careers and education pathways in the arts and culture sector. Building a diverse set of technical skills while gaining practical experience.

Environmental Science examines the physical, chemical, and biological components of the Earth’s environment, its diverse systems, and the complex ways in which they interact. Environmental scientists use a variety of scientific and analytical techniques to measure environmental parameters, to evaluate the state of environmental systems, and to project the changes in environmental systems as a result of human activities and climate change. Natural and physical systems behavior is key to evaluating the implications of human activities such as agriculture, industry, and resource extraction, processing, and use. Environmental problems such as contamination and pollution, global warming, and biodiversity loss are studied with regard to past, present, and future practices and solutions.

Biotechnology is the application of the principles of chemistry, biochemistry and microbiology to the development of new technologies. Both Microbiology and Chemistry share in the teaching and administration of the program,
