The specialized Athletic Therapy program within the Bachelor of Kinesiology four-year degree prepares students to work in the prevention, immediate careand rehabilitation of musculo-skeletal injuries.

The Department of Classics is devoted to the study of the ancient Mediterranean civilizations of Greece and Rome which stand at the beginning of the history and culture of the whole of Western civilization. A wide variety of subjects and methods of investigation come within the experience of students who pursue the study of the Classical world, including (among others) Ancient History, Archaeology, Art History, the Latin and ancient Greek languages, Linguistics, Modern Word Origins, Mythology, Literature and Drama, Religion, and the Origins of Western Thought. Students may study ancient Greek and Latin to a high level of fluency, but most courses in the Department do not require knowledge of these languages.

The Diploma in Art is essentially technical in nature. The interdisciplinary studio-based learning experience gives students a hands-on training in an art studio setting and introduces them to possible careers and education pathways in the arts and culture sector. Biology is the study of life as it has evolved and is evolving on earth. All aspects of life are examined, from molecular processes inside cells, to large-scale ecological interactions between organisms in their environment, and how the changing environment shapes these interactions.

English Literature courses cover literature from the medieval period to the present and provide instruction in theoretical approaches and critical methods. The program not only introduces students to an array of literary genres but also develops their creative and interpretive capabilities. The aim is to provide comprehensive historical coverage, to expand students' writing skills, and to promote the kind of analysis and argumentation that enables them to express their ideas clearly and effectively. The program also offers courses in Creative Writing.

Mechanical engineering is the use of principles of mechanics, materials and energy to design machines and processes. The Mechanical Engineering program allows great flexibility and choice with an Aerospace Option and Manufacturing Option, and specialties in energy systems, advanced materials and solid mechanics.

Astronomy and astrophysics examine the universe, galaxies and stars as well as phenomena such as the birth of stars, how explosions of stars create fast moving cosmic ray particles and pulsars, and how the rotation of a galaxy reveals the presence of dark matter. A planetarium and two astronomical observatories enhance this program.
