Finance is about finding the most effective way to use the money you have, the money you'll make, and the money you'll spend.

UNB’s Finance program will teach you how to plan, manage, and analyze an organization’s financial activities and make important investment decisions that will maximize profits. You’ll learn about key business principles, such as investments, budgets, and mergers and acquisitions, and you’ll explore how individuals and businesses use resources over time.

The study of English is about the appreciation of language at work.  English students explore the impact and possibilities of words as they form into narratives and speak through characters to wider cultural communities at home and across the globe.

The Faculties of Arts and Science at UNB in Fredericton work together to offer a combined arts and science four-year degree program. The BAS is a joint degree in Arts and Science. The Department of Culture and Media Studies houses specialists in media studies, literatures, film, music, and languages. This multidisciplinary group is dedicated to fostering broad understandings of culture while also offering opportunities for students to engage critically and creatively with an array of media arts, global cultures and musical traditions.
The language courses are a continuous series and must be taken in the normal sequence. Students with some prior knowledge of Spanish should have this assessed in order to be placed at their proper level. The first two years provide students with a solid working knowledge of Spanish. Students may change streams in consultation with the Department.

Philosophy investigates many of the big questions of life: what is a human being? Are there such things as justice, beauty or God? What counts as knowledge?

Investigating these and other questions, such as the nature of time, the relation between body and mind, how we define good and bad, is a conversation that draws from great thinkers-­â€-­â€past and present. This is a discipline that challenges each of us to think about these kinds of problems critically, creatively and systematically.

The Law in Society program explores the intimate relationship between law and contemporary societies. The program allows students to study this relationship from an interdisciplinary perspective that may include the philosophic, historic, political, economic and sociological foundations of law. The Law in Society program is a superb preparation for graduate study in the humanities and social sciences, as well as for professional studies including law, public administration, policing, social work, and business.
