Accounting is the language of business. It tells you if you’re winning or losing – exploding or imploding. Accounting is the language you need to succeed.

You’ll acquire this language through UNB’s Accounting programs by learning how to record, interpret, and report economic data. Once you master this language, you’ll have the answer to key questions: Is your company succeeding or failing? Is it using its resources effectively? What changes should be implemented? What does its future look like?

Why Accounting at UNB?
We offer honours in accounting, which includes the courses needed to qualify for the professional level education program, which is required to become a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). We also offer a concentration in accounting.

Through the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at UNB, you’ll learn the foundations of economics and how it shapes our world. You’ll learn how to explain economic phenomenon, analyze economic impacts, and recommend ways to solve complex economic problems.

Travel back in time to ancient Greece and Rome by studying how art, architecture, mythology, history, science, philosophy, and the language of the time have shaped what we now understand as our modern Western world. Using literature and archeology as your guides, you’ll learn about ancient civilizations in a fresh and compelling way.

Why Classics at UNB?
At UNB, we offer two approaches to the study of classical antiquity. For students intending to pursue the study of ancient Greece and Rome at a graduate level, we offer a program focusing on ancient Greek and Latin languages, and a critical knowledge of the works of ancient authors in their original languages.

For students planning to enter professional roles after the BA, we offer a program of humanities courses, which includes: history, mythology, philosophy, and art history. In either stream, students are invited to enroll in courses in archaeology.

The Law in Society program explores the intimate relationship between law and contemporary societies. The program allows students to study this relationship from an interdisciplinary perspective that may include the philosophic, historic, political, economic and sociological foundations of law. The Law in Society program is a superb preparation for graduate study in the humanities and social sciences, as well as for professional studies including law, public administration, policing, social work, and business.

Sport and Recreation Management:
Combine the MBA with your interests in Sport and Recreation Management and prepare for a career in professional or amateur sports, not-for-profit organizations, a recreation facility, resort or park. 

In the Chemical Engineering program at UNB, you’ll learn how to transform raw materials into useful products while protecting the environment, managing resources, and meeting strict health and safety standards. You’ll also explore chemical processes that improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase safety and security. Examples include the development of more affordable drugs, more efficient fuels, and better pollution controls. In other words, you’ll explore ways to make the world a better place. 

Chemical Engineering is available as a major in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering program. Two option programs within the technical electives stream are available: Energy Conversion Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

Additionally, you will analyze and deliberate over applications from UNB-led startups to recommend up to two real cash investments each year from the Fraser Student Venture Fund.

Logistics is one of the most important jobs in the world. Without it, world food shortages would lead to utter chaos, and society as we know it would cease to function.

Study Logistics at UNB and you’ll learn what it takes to move materials, people, energy, and information, while reducing cost, improving customer service, and providing an organization with greater flexibility and competitiveness.

At UNB's Fredericton campus, you can concentrate your BBA in logistics and, you’ll learn from innovative instructors recognized for innovative logistics research. In addition, business grads with logistics and data analysis training are in high demand, both in New Brunswick and around the world.

The Music minor allows students from all Faculties to study music from the perspectives of theory, history, analysis, and performance. The program creates rich learning experiences for students interested in making music and for those primarily interested in learning about music.

The minor consists of 24 credit hours. Students focusing on performance will take at least 12 ch from performance and theory based courses, while students focusing on the history and appreciation of music will take at least 12 ch from courses in those areas.

Why Music at UNB?
With the minor in Music at UNB, students interested in music can group a variety of music courses into a cohesive program focusing on either music theory and performance, or music history and appreciation. Students intending to pursue careers in the arts will benefit from this addition to their degree.

Hands-on learning
Students in the Music minor can receive up to 3 credit hours toward their degree by pursuing private music lessons, and up to 3 credit hours for participation in the UNB Concert Band or UNB Chorale.
