This one-of-a-kind one-year graduate program will prepare you for a specialized career in quantitative investment management. The program equips graduates with the fundamentals of finance knowledge combined with analytic and programming skills, as well as professional development competencies demanded by the finance industry. 

Quantitative Investment Management integrates tools from finance, economics, applied mathematics, statistics and computer programming to address problems in derivative securities valuation, dynamic investment strategies and risk management. These skills are sought by investment and commercial banks, trading companies, hedge funds, insurance companies, corporate risk managers and regulatory agencies. 

After completing the MQIM you will be qualified for positions such as:

Using literature and archeology as your guides, you’ll learn about ancient civilizations in a fresh and compelling way.

Why Classics at UNB?
At UNB, we offer two approaches to the study of classical antiquity. For students intending to pursue the study of ancient Greece and Rome at a graduate level, we offer a program focusing on ancient Greek and Latin languages, and a critical knowledge of the works of ancient authors in their original languages.

For students planning to enter professional roles after the BA, we offer a program of humanities courses, which includes: history, mythology, philosophy, and art history. In either stream, students are invited to enroll in courses in archaeology.

In the Psychology program at UNB’s Fredericton campus, you’ll explore human behavior- our desires, impulses, actions and emotions- in the context of the science that drives it.

The Psychology program will prepare you for a variety of careers including policymaking at the local, national or global level, or professional programs in a range of healthcare areas such as neuropsychology, speech and language pathology, or medicine.

Chemical Engineering is available as a major in the Bachelor of Science in Engineering program. Two option programs within the technical electives stream are available: Energy Conversion Engineering and Biomedical Engineering.

Software engineering goes beyond programming.  It’s about developing, writing, testing, implementing, and maintaining software systems. It’s the foundation of all computer systems. In other words, our digital world depends on software engineering.

In UNB’s Software Engineering program, you’ll learn how to develop and maintain reliable, safe, affordable, and efficient software systems that satisfy customer requirements. You’ll also gain the skills and knowledge needed to work on large and expensive software systems that often have safety-critical applications.  

Software Engineering is a joint program in the Faculty of Computer Science and Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The program is available as a Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree.

The Film Studies Minor offers students from all faculties the opportunity to study film (and video) from a variety of perspectives, including theory, history, and analysis, as well as a range of topics around national cinemas and genres, among others. In addition, students have the opportunity to study film from creative and practical perspectives in production and other practice-driven courses as well as creative writing for the screen. Physics is the most fundamental natural science, It examines basic concepts such as energy, force, and spacetime, and all that derives from these, such as mass, charge, matter and its motion. More broadly, it is the general analysis of nature, conducted in order to understand how the world and universe behave.

Physicists want to really understand how the world works and the applied physics degree focuses on developments that depend on that understanding. The applied physics program incorporates practical physics courses (for example with applications in the energy and the electronics sectors), and allows room for electives in other Faculties such as Engineering and Computer Science.

The notion of global interdependence has become a central fact of today's post -modern world. The challenges faced by the emerging countries of the South have an immediate impact on life in Canada.

International Development Studies (IDS) is an interdisciplinary program made to address social, political, and economic issues facing the development of emerging countries in the Global South. The program includes selected courses from the Faculty of Arts at UNB.

IDS provides students with a holistic understanding of today's important issues including the North South dialogue, globalization, poverty, indigenous concerns, ethnic struggles, and sustainable development.

Bachelor of Arts
The IDS program is available as a major, double major or honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. Arts is a four year program and covers a broad range of subject areas concerned with the study of human beings and the evolution and nature of global societies, ideas, and institutions. In your first two years of the program, you will select courses in fields like humanities, languages, social sciences as well as science and business to provide you with a broad foundation for advanced study in your chosen subject area during the final two years.
