Sport and Recreation Management:
Combine the MBA with your interests in Sport and Recreation Management and prepare for a career in professional or amateur sports, not-for-profit organizations, a recreation facility, resort or park. 

Drama is available as a concentration within the English major. The requirements for this program are that a student complete the normal English Major requirements in terms of both historical coverage and course restrictions as explained under Major in English, along with courses from relevant drama areas. Drama is also available as a minor within the Bachelor of Arts degree.

Bachelor of Arts
Arts is a four year degree that covers a broad range of subject areas concerned with the study of human beings and the evolution and nature of global societies, ideas, and institutions.

In your first two years of Arts, you will select courses in fields like humanities, languages, social sciences as well as science and business to provide you with a broad foundation for advanced study in your chosen subject area during the final two years.

Earth Sciences is the natural science that deals with Earth, the interior make-up, and superficial features, its formative and destructive pro­cesses, its age, history and development through time.

Geologists are concerned with a diverse range of issues such as the origin, migration and quality of groundwater, river and coastal erosion, desert-dune migration, the origin and evolution of oceans and continents, of mountain ranges, valleys and canyons. Studies concerning the causes and effects of natural hazards, such as those created by land and rockslides, earthquakes, floods and droughts, and volcanic eruptions all fall within the realm of Geology.

The Faculty of Science is one of the university’s oldest faculties and was established when UNB was founded in 1785. Our faculty has an outstanding reputation, both nationally and internationally, and as a student you will be able to benefit from its stellar accomplishments in research and for its acclaimed graduate and nationally-accredited undergraduate degree programs. The impact of their research has led to four of our faculty members being placed in the world's top one per cent of chemists most cited in scientific papers.

The Classical Studies program is designed for students who wish to study the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome either as a secondary interest (e.g. a double major) or as preparation for entrance into further professional studies (architecture, education, journalism, law, library science, museum studies). 

Classical Studies offers students the option of studying the ancient civilizations of Greece and Rome with only minimal or no language study.  It is a perfect fit for those who wish to develop their interest in and knowledge of Ancient Greece and Rome but who do not wish to continue their study of ancient societies into a career or post-graduate study.

Learning the French language provides a wealth of opportunities for your future career and ignites a passion for culture, creativity, and expression. The Department of French welcomes students who wish to learn and perfect the language as well as pursue their studies in literature and linguistics.

We offer a range of courses in French Canadian literature, cinema, and culture, with an emphasis on Acadian and Québécois writers, as well as other Francophone literatures (i.e. France, Belgium, etc.).

Our linguistics courses explore the various expressions across French Canada. We also emphasize the phenomenon of human communication and how language shapes experience.

Through the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) program at UNB, you’ll learn the foundations of economics and how it shapes our world. Nurses are always in demand. If you’re passionate about caregiving and thrive in dynamic learning environments then nursing is the place for you. Nurses work with diverse and vulnerable populations in a wide variety of health care settings at home and abroad, such as: schools, hospitals, daycares, long-term care facilities, and community clinics.

The four-year Bachelor of Nursing program comprises a majority of coursework in Nursing, as well as courses from other disciplines, including: English, Biology, and Psychology.

A Bachelor of Nursing from UNB qualifies graduates to write the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).

Gender and Women's Studies gives students an opportunity to explore gender issues in an interdisciplinary context, and it offers a useful complement to other fields. The required courses provide a framework for understanding the gender-based aspects of knowledge, power, and society.

Gender and Women's Studies represents a new approach to knowledge; it examines the gender-based aspects of human experience and women's roles in society. Gender and Women's Studies includes a wide variety of academic disciplines and professions.

Bachelor of Arts
The Gender and Women's Studies program is available as a major, double major or honours option as part of a four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. Courses in the Faculty of Arts cover a broad range of subject areas concerned with the study of human beings and the evolution and nature of global societies, ideas, and institutions. One of the first programs of its kind in Canada, Media Arts & Cultures (MAAC) at UNB has offered students a dynamic mix of critical media studies and hands-on creative coursework since 1996. As a MAAC major, you will learn about media by making media. You will consider, critique, and engage intellectually with media, but you will also learn the tools and techniques used today to create media content.

MAAC combines elements of the liberal arts and fine arts – critical thinking and creative expression. Like all Arts majors, you will write research papers and give presentations, but you will also make videos, media remixes, animations, blogs, and video games.

In Media Arts & Cultures, we'll teach you to be both a critical consumer and a creative producer, both a scholar of media and an author of media. You will not only learn from reading textbooks but also from screening a film or playing a game - and then making one yourself.

Hands-on learning
Media Arts & Cultures emphasizes experiential learning throughout the program. You will combine courses in the history and language of film with courses in film production. A course in game studies that examines philosophical reflections on play and games in western culture can be paired with another on contemporary video game design.
